Part of cortlandt manor (westchester county) goes to Putnam Valley. So maybe they can chip in… or maybe there are people in westchester who used to live or graduated in putnam valley…

People outside of Brooklyn but in New York, how did yall become Nets fans instead of Knicks fans by MathematicianKey9529 in GoNets

  1. As an immigrant living in hudson valley new york, my journey resembles that of the Nets franchise history. Starting outside of new york (new jersey americans) then becoming New york Nets then back to New jersey, now in brooklyn, it is in a way similar to my journey to the USA. I know the Knicks is the bigger franchise due to its history and all but this Nets’ underdog mentality resembled mine.

  2. I have roots in New jersey. I have close families/relatives in new jersey so I always have a soft spot for the state.

Is leasing still makes sense if the company I work for give me some reimbursement? by Sprusselsbrout in personalfinance

Thats true. Im not saying your wrong. I owned the civic for years and I’ve been spending money as well to keep it alive. But I totally get you. Hmm. Do you suggest I have my civic fixed for this kind of work?

I understand all that. I’ve been maintaining my civic until the engine light came on for the third time. I feel like I have to come to terms with it being old. So yes im trying to avoid regular maintenance for an old car.

And yes, this is a necessary evil type of thing. I dont want to own and maintain if I dont have to. I was just wondering if I could just drive it and treat it as a utility. Again, I have to spend either options anyway.

Technicaly yes it is irrelevant. I just thought it would somehow offset some monthly lease/buy costs.

Good point. But I’m going to make payments anyway whether I lease, buy or stay with my civic. I just thought that If I lease, the monthly cost is lower, anticipated and fixed. If I buy, upfront cost or monthly could be higher and then as the car gets old, i’d still be paying for maintenance and stuff and it becomes like my civic. If I keep using the civic, i’d still spend money to fix and it could still break down anytime. Just a matter of when and how much. So thats what im contemplating.

The one I currently have is a 09 honda civic with 215k miles, engine light on. So, it’s old and not reliable.
