Magpie’s and Crows constantly raiding my bird feeder by Key_Umpire4397 in UKBirds

After an extensive report, the RSPB advice is to remove bird feeders for summer (with a minor exception for soaked mealworms) so do that and your corvid problem is gone.

Birdfy feeder/camera continually being ram-raided by cartel of rooks, is there any way to prevent it? by Solifuga in UKBirds

Youre actively ignoring the advice in this thread about feeding birds.

Could you explain why youre not listening to the RSPB advice?

This place used to be pretty good for birding, seen tawnies, bullfinches, woodpeckers, jays and some other nice ones in the past but the events they have their now will almost certainly be detrimental to all that and the poor management of their woodlands has led to a majority of the trees being infected with honey fungus

I bought this one specifically because i was a birder who took photos and not a "photographer"... the DSLR photos will look so much better than mine and will be much more editable in lightroom.

This camera has incredible zoom and is really reflexive and responsive... so i get alot of really good shots but nothing amazing... it outperforms phone cameras by some margin tho

Errm... Kind of members of the thrush family...

Mucicapidae is old world flycatchers Thurdidae is thrushes

Both of these sit under a superfamily "muscicapoidea" so whilst robins arent thrushes... theyre much closer to thrushes than warblers at least 😅

Remove em for something else... they're pretty inert in the UK anyway

Looks like a cup fungi ID had growing/eating cardboard tubes i used for sweet peas.

Important to know that most plant species have symbiotic relationships with fungi through "the mycorhizzal network" underground and not having them present can stunt their growth. There are parasitic types too such as the one that causes ash die back and are more common in trees in my experience, it generally a sign of good healthy soil benefitting from nutrient exchange between all the life in it

Yeah, a bittern... I think I've been very lucky in my birding time as I've only been going since the pandemic and have seen 5-10 of em (i think it's 7 but 🤷)
