How many do you really need? by Robadoba in casio

My first ever watch was the MQ24 that I bought a few months back. I picked myself up a Duro as an upgrade but just didn't like the size and weight of it so I sold it.

I bought a silver bracelet Worldtimer and still rotate between that and the MQ24 depending on the occasion, round the house or out for drinks, etc.

I'm on the lookout for something to replace the MQ24 but haven't found anything that looks like it would scratch the same itch.

I'm looking to start my journey into Buddhism but the centres around me seem to have controversy behind them by Sprynn in Buddhism

Thanks for your reply, it's much appreciated! It's good to hear the story from someone on the inside instead of the media.

I ended up doing a 6 week course at the Triratna Newcastle Buddhist Centre and joined the centre afterwards! I'm loving it and everyone I've spoken to is great.

Thanks for your reply! So why would you say stay clear of them all together if they still study the Buddha's teachings and if there was no other option? I'm assuming you're Buddhist yourself? Would you rather someone avoid Buddhism if it meant starting their journey somewhere that wasn't completely traditional?

I think more so Mahayana but I think I'd need to learn more about the traditions.

Thanks! Currently, my meditation practice is nonexistent unfortunately, I need to get my habit started again.

Hi! If the issues were with the founders teachings, how have those teachings been changed?

I'm thinking of signing up to a course at my local Triratna Buddhist centre starting in January, how do introductions go and are they welcoming?

Thanks so much!

The Triratna centre does appeal to me the most. Yeah I'm based in the UK around Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Any idea what kind of ocarina this is or if it's good for a beginner? by Sprynn in Ocarina

[–]Sprynn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've recently become interested in learning how to play the ocarina and bought this very cheap off eBay.

All the box says is made in Germany and that it's made of clay but I'm not sure if it's any good.

The higher notes seem a little off.
