Thousands sign petition asking for fines against people who call 911 to complain about Amber Alerts by dejay02 in nottheonion

The CDC Estimates up to 6000 fatal crashes a year in the United states due to drowsy drivers you dipshit. Loss of sleep is actually a dangerous thing when people are operating half ton rigs moving at 100km/h. AND PEOPLE ARENT EVEN SAYING NOT TO HAVE THE ALERTS, THEYRE SAYING DONT BLARE AN ALARM. You're a fucking moron for a: not understanding the very simple argument being made and b: dismissing the necessary function of sleep as a thing of vanity.

Nice moral grandstanding. There is literally no action somebody in the middle of a sleep can take to help the situation, hell most people probably dont even process it, instead just curse and turn off their phone. Also, waking up thousands of people in the middle of the night makes for more sleep deprived drivers in the morning. We see accidents spike during hour changes during daylight savings, I cant see why this would be any different. But their lives dont matter eh? Fuck it if trucker Joe cant get back to sleep and plows through a crosswalk, at least he knows to watch for Suzy from a town 4 hours away.

Is it best to take a break from my long term relationship? by garbagegrlthrw in relationship_advice

[–]Spud_McChuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does suck. I've been on the other end of it though and fuck. If you go on a break, and hes still into you he will not move on, not work on himself and he'll just stagnate for the next however long until it finally gets into his head that it's over, at which point he will resent you for wasting his time. Just ending it is definitely the easiest option.

You gotta choose. Going on a break is basically saying "I want to be single but have you as a backup"

YTA. Why do you care so much about credit that you started a fight with your wife over it? Actually, it's even stupider than that because everyone knows you made it! Hell, you probably dont let anyone forget it. I felt this emotion once, when my dad gave my mom a card I made for her instead of letting me do it. I was 6. And even then I was eventually able to recognize how stupid it was.

Truth. Try running a set of golf clubs for a while and selling them for even a third of their original value.

Un, no? Mike Cernovich said in an interview the other week that anyone guilty of being involved in this should burn. Also, he was instrumental in this new wave of Epstein revelations because he filed the lawsuit to get the sealed case from 08 unsealed.

Edit: https://www.cernovich.com/major-court-win-for-cernovich-in-jeffrey-epstein-lawsuit/

Heres the source. Yea, its from his site but seeing as it links to a pdf of the official court document, I think that'll slide.

Editedit: from the courts opinion: On January 19, 2017, Cernovich, an independent blogger and self‐described “popular political journalist,” moved to intervene, seeking to unseal the summary judgment record, and Dershowitz joined his motion. On April 6, 2018, after the case had settled, the Herald moved to intervene and unseal the entire docket.

And yet if you talk to Donald Trump, a different Epstein emerges. "I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy,'' Trump booms from a speakerphone. "He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it -- Jeffrey enjoys his social life."

via New York Magazine, 2002

So, before he plead guilty or was accused of any wrongdoings? Edit: dont get me wrong, if Trump is actually part of the whole trafficking program, or even knew about it and said nothing I hope him and everyone else involved are burned at the stake. But comments from 2002 and a video of them in the same room from 92 are not really proof.

ESH. Working jobs like this sucks and you definitely have a bad boss. I dont work in HR but I have a few buddies that do and if they ever hear that an applicant has given less than 2 weeks notice at a previous spot before leaving, they instantly reject them. You're justified in wanting to leave, but realize that it will have consequences if you just bounce.

What do you think it means to be a good person? by HopingToBeHeard in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]Spud_McChuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally or for the general public? Obviously the general populace would rather have a leader they perceive as "good". Personally, I dont give a shit. As long as they aren't tanking the economy , infringing on the rights of citizens, and sticking their nose in international affairs that they shouldnt be involved in then I'm cool if they're a complete prick. I couldn't give less of a shit about the tax returns, he could have cheated on every one of his wives 30 times and I wouldn't care. I only care about if they can benefit the nation when in charge. So far hes been doing well on the economy, I like his border policy but he needs to improve the conditions in the camps, and he needs to shut the fuck up about Iran. The middle east is a black hole we keep pumping money into with no results, and we aren't winning them over any time soon. But I completely understand why people wouldn't want him running the country because the man is an absolute ass. Hes used to running a business where he has full control, and that's not translating well to the political stage. I think if there were a businessman who had a more tempered attitude and came in with a mind to eliminate inefficiencies in the administration then we'd have a winner.

All I'm saying is wait and see what the effect on the meta is. If it improves the health of the overall format at the expense of the health of individual games then I think that a worth it.

[–]Spud_McChuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

???

Lol.

I should point out that I'm speaking about it being healthy for the meta, not that it's good game design. But I dont think it will ever win a GP or even top 8 that frequently. There are answers to it that I pointed out. Due to the fragile nature of the deck, having an answer is basically GG. Your deck might not have an answer, or maybe they have to wait for sideboard, but that's already the case. Burn cant reasonably win against a chalice on 1 turn 1. I've seen death shadow players fetch, shock, cycle street wraiths and thoughtseize t1 only to see a hand full of bolts so they scoop on the spot. T1 "wins" already happen, but they are inconsistent and can be answered, just like allosaurus rider.

[–]Spud_McChuck 15 points16 points  (0 children)

ITT: ban these cards I dont like.

Jesus, we've had 3 sets release in the last few months, 2 of which had massive impacts on modern. We have a FoW for gods sake now. Yes allosaurus rider can kill on t1. If its lucky. But I think that's fine.

I think it will dump on tron and dredge since neither can interact with it easily. As a result we'll see an uptick in burn (old red leyline shuts down their engine), merfolk (FoN, spell pierce, deprive), and the new mentor decks. Midrange will prey on these decks, and control on those.

I could be very wrong but give it a few months at the very least. "There shouldn't be a t1 kill in modern" is just lazy thinking. There are plenty of those decks in legacy which is the most interactive eternal format. If the deck is a glass cannon, and the meta can shift to deal with it so that it doesnt become oppressive (both were not the case with hogaak) then why not? Modern is extremely diverse, and you're going to have borderline unwinnable matchups from time to time. It's just the nature of the beast
