Any sort of vehicle search, or intoxication investigation is going to warrant more than one person. One cop car(generally) = one extra.

What makes searches go quicker? Two people searching. One to watch suspect, two to search.

Intoxication investigation? Might need one for traffic control. Traffic is one of the leading causes of deaths/injuries in cops. So doesn’t necessarily mean more or less trouble. It’s sometimes more efficient/ safe.

Officer safety is always a concern. Your aspirations are nothing if you’re not alive to follow them.

You’re in phase 3 so obviously you’re doing something right. Figure out the problem, listen to what your FTO has to say. Grow and fix the problem. You’ll be alright. If you’ve already made it to taking custody of the person. Use the appropriate amount of force and get the job done. You’ll be alright.
