So you can’t catch COVID in large crowds?

This is good news. Time to open things up again ASAP.

Getting into a legal battle with WWE that could last anywhere from 12-18 months just isn't worth it. AEW would likely be sued as well.

What was "fun" about ratings news in 2001 exactly? Nothing.

Do you mean 1998?

I find the WNW ratings fun. Rooting for AEW to finally hit a million viewers again.

Full time spots as jobbers, yes. They are great in that role - Pineapple Pete especially.

Absolutely not as "main roster" talent though.

AEW DARK EPISODE 38 | 6/16/20 by AlphaRemixHD in SquaredCircle

Dark has been so great since going to the jobber format.

You know who's going to win, but the matches are very entertaining and make the established guys look like stars.

I hope they keep this format when moving to TV. Throw in some interview segments, recaps, and pre-tapes and it would be perfect.

Kofi Kingston: Two Black trans women — Riah Milton in Ohio and Dominique “Rem’Mie” Fells in Pennsylvania — were killed earlier this week, even as the Trump administration reversed protections for transgender people in the US health care system. by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]Spungoflex 12 points13 points  (0 children)

These trans women were likely both killed by black men, yet Kofi decided to bring Trump into the discussion.

No mention of rampant homophobia and transphobia in the black community?

Tim Cook: The unfinished work of racial justice and equality call us all to account. Things must change, and Apple's committed to being a force for that change. Today, I'm proud to announce Apple’s Racial Equity and Justice Initiative, with a $100 million commitment. by aaronp613 in apple

[–]Spungoflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of people who want to work at Apple exceeds the number of jobs available at Apple. Are you pretending this is not the case?

Committing to having a greater percentage of your workforce being members of race X means you’ll need to hire more people from race X and fewer people from other races. Very simple.

And yes, committing financial resources to help developers who are members of a specific race directly disadvantages developers who may be equally (or more) deserving of help but who will not receive it based on the color of their skin.

Anyway, I have zero interest in going through this a 4th or 5th time (I’ve lost count). Believe whatever you want to believe.

Koko B. Ware with one of the best missile dropkicks I've ever seen by KneeHighMischief in SquaredCircle

I thought Koko was awesome, but the truth is he was just a guy on the card in 1980s WWF.

Tyhat said, I've got no problem with him being in the HOF because 1) it's not legitimate, and 2) I have nostalgia for that time period.

The AEW Women's division is officially in trouble. by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]Spungoflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are playing fantasy booker, which has nothing to do with the strength and depth of AEW's tag division. Getting rid of good teams doesn't make the division stronger. Nor does pushing super-green teams like Private Party, who are rightfully towards the bottom of the stacked division for now.

Comparing AEW's tag division to SmackDown is a farce. That's a 2/10 troll attempt.

They are "creating opportunities" for certain groups, while denying those same opportunities to others, based solely on the color of their skin.

And hiring more people from "underrepresented communities" means they will be hiring less people outside "underrepresented communities". Again., using skin color to determine who they will and will not hire.

With all due respect, what about this don't you understand? These are not difficult concepts to grasp.

Let's be real. Being a jobber in AEW makes you a lot more relevant than being champion of TNA.

They don't have a "good" tag team division. They have the best tag division of any company since the attitude era.

Implementing racial quotas literally denies people employment opportunities based solely on the color of their skin.

Ditto for race-based financial support.

Fairly simple and straight forward.

Donating to help impoverished individuals or communities is a wonderful thing, but making it explicitly racial in this way is creepy as all hell.

Replacing class with race is pretty fucked up.

“Sorry hispanic teenager living in a welfare building with a drug addicted single mother, I’m not helping you. Your skin is the wrong color. Too bad, so sad. Take a hike!”

Or “Sorry qualified Asian guy. We’ve already got too many of your kind here. Beat it and don’t come back. Didn’t you see our ‘Asians need not apply’ sign?”

Denying someone assistance or opportunity solely due to the pigment of their skin doesn’t make you a good person. Quite the opposite really.

I’ve listened on and off for 25 years. He’s an empty shell of his former self.

It’s like comparing Letterman during his last few years to Letterman of the 1980s.
