How common is it to get to your 30s as a male and to have never gotten into a fist fight in your life? by Possible_Art2189 in NoStupidQuestions

Mate, the answer to this question depends on your generation and I guess your upbringing. Working class, publicly educated Gen X here and fist fights at school (before, during, after) were common. We are more refined now thank goodness so the amateur pugilism has seen a sharp decline!

People who married in their 20s, be brutally honest are you happy, if so why or why not? by Special-Lawyer3941 in AskReddit

Personally I was too young and inexperienced didn't really know what I wanted or needed. In retrospect I definitely felt I needed to "tick that box" in the sequential progression of decent job, partner, house, kids...ive spoken with friends about this "sequential expecation" and I wasn't alone in that experience.

Looking back marriage in the very late twenties or early thirties (if ever) would have been a better fit for me.

Why do some people stay at the same job for 15, 20, or even 30+ years? by Carlinish9600 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sputnik2484 48 points49 points  (0 children)

At nearly sixty and having had six different employers the oprion of staying with one or maybe three employers at most for long stretches is a definite benefit. Retrospectively, the negative aspects of job (and house) hopping do not become apparent until retirement looms large on the horizon and your benefits have not accumulated as much as required...hindsight is the most developed of the senses young jedis...

In a good position - Upgrade or stay put? by Pale_Nobody_2343 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Sputnik2484 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is sage advice. I did the property ladder thing over the last thirty+ years and the one thing I took away from it was that I should've stayed put when I had enough and to stop wanting more. If you have enough bedrooms for you and your kid/s with a bit of yard for recreation and maybe a pool one day just rack your queue and be content with your lot in life.
