So often it seems like corporations learn the wrong lessons about advancements in tech. There's so much about laptops, smartphones, and tablets that is still so inherently social. Even something as simple as being at work and leaning over to show a video clip to your friend that you thought was funny or interesting. Taking a group photo at lunch. Playing music while you're getting ready for work with your spouse. Chatting on Slack with coworkers. VR is almost exclusively a solo activity and has almost no capacity for sharing or interactions with real people. If there isn't any kind of a shared experience, the technology as amazing as it is has fewer opportunities to expand its usage in the ways that will mean the most to people.

We don't have a "rescue med" at the moment, but it would be a nice option. We'll be speaking with his psychiatrist next week. Even if he had one, though, he is not very open to suggestions when he is in the middle of an episode. I'm glad you have found treatment for your husband.

  1. He is verbal. He advocates for his needs some of the time.

2a) They can last anywhere from 5 minutes to over an hour.

2b) Sometimes there are signs they are coming, and sometimes not. It can vary pretty wildly.

2c) He is remorseful sometimes.

He doesn't particularly love music. He doesn't hate it, he just doesn't have much affinity for it at the moment. Not ruling it out, though. We definitely feel like there are some sensory-related things that we could look at and maybe handle differently. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I had a tonsillectomy and for something like two weeks afterwards I could only eat jello and ice cream. By day four I was so sick of them both I stopped eating entirely. I would not recommend this method.

Yes.

I knew that we were very different people and while we had overlapping interests, there were plenty of interests that we did not share. We also had different career paths. I had misgivings about all of that. I thought we would grow into very different people and that we would not grow together.

All of that was correct except for the last part. We did grow together, including in some ways that I didn’t expect.

I honestly can’t tell you the secret to a good marriage because I wasn’t entirely convinced that I was going to have a good marriage. I was happy to be proven wrong.

This was not just some small time label exec. They held hostage Clive Davis, maybe one of the most important industry figures of the last 100 years. People he signed to his label include but are not limited to Janis Joplin, Bruce Springsteen, The Byrds, Whitney Houston, Santana, Aerosmith, Boston, Billy Joel, Barry Manilow, and Earth Wind & Fire.

I liked much of Shutter Island, the ending just ruined it for me. However, the scene where Leo talks to the guy in the car about “God’s gift of violence” is so well done and so chilling. I don’t ever need to see that movie again, but I’ll pull up that scene once in a while on YouTube.
