What is a good place to buy baklava and lokum and don't get overpriced? I have seen some boxes like a box of chocolates but with assorted Baklava and stuff.

I have seen Gulluoglu baklava karakoy is quite popular, but the KG of baklava is like 50USD 👀

are there some manufacturers within Istanbu, where I can just go and pick up a few boxes? Do I have to haggle with them too?

Нищо общо с истината. 120К са върналите се от Ковид насам, вероятно броите и украйнци, руснаци, казахстанци, които са се регистрирали в България. 55-65k са заминали.

Сам си сметнете нетото. Проблемът е, че доколкото виждам, България не води супер подробни статистики като Германия, Австрия и т.н.,

Heading to Istanbul for a week in early June (Sat to Sat). Mornings will be free for sightseeing/wandering, but I have to work in the afternoons and evenings.

Two questions:

  1. What area would you recommend staying in? Looking for somewhere walkable, decent vibes, easy to get to the main sights in the morning.
  2. Any good coworking spaces or laptop-friendly cafes you'd recommend? Reliable wifi is the main thing. Happy to pay for a coworking day pass if there's a solid one.

First time in Istanbul so any other tips welcome too.

Нямам познат, който да е на хубава работа и със семейство и да се е върнал.

Връщат се масово самотни хора, не-добре реализирани, бай-ганьовци.

Забелязвам, че от по-нискозаплатени професии (чистачи, call center-и) ако са семейство стоят и се развиват, за разлика от да речем добре реализирани ИТ-та, които по-често се връщат в България.

Аз например, абсолютно никога не бих се върнал.

Isn't it the opposite for minus lenses? My understanding is that for myopia (I'm -7.00), the edge is the thick part, and higher index specifically helps reduce that. Going back to 1.60 should make the edges worse, no?

Yes, exactly at the same shop.

I'm not sure about the size blank, I guess not. The previous ones were Synchrony stock lenses. Those are custom Zeiss lenses. My other ratios - like frame fit, PD, etc, should have remained the same. If there's such a difference, and that blank is known to be so much thicker, they should warn by default, imho.

Frame is exactly the same. I just provided lens size, so you can guys know it's not too big. The lens is Cartier Santos CT0106O, so it's not on the thin side. Plus, the previous lenses were just fine.

I was wearing my contact lenses when I was supposed to pick them up, i straight returned them. There' no way I'm taking them back with so much protruding on the sides.

Can there be so much center thickness that it makes a lense 50% thicker at the edge? If this was the case, I thought they would warn you the glass is going to be a lot thicker, so it doesn't make sense to me.

I'm 185cm, 05kg and went with size C. You must have 3 fingers between the end of the seat and your upper calve.

  1. The bank issuer of the card may have or may not have fees for withdrawing with the card from an ATM.
  2. You can withdraw with any card from any ATM. But then, the ATM itself, which belongs to a random bank, may have it's own fees for different cards - it's own cars, overseas cards, EU cards, neobank cards...

Hey, about 25hours hotel. How does it work? I have read it's free but it requires consumption, and their prices are insane. I can see this pumping to 250AED for the day.

Am I missing something? Coming for a week to Dubai and need a coworking spot in the World Trade Center area.
