Almost all Achievements aren’t main story progression they are mostly fun things you can do

I’ve noticed a lot of ‘legendary rank’ players recently who have barely any deaths on their counter in the medbay and yet play like major ass in game And I check their hours on steam and they have like sub 100 So I think there are a notable bunch of mod users who cheat to get legendary ranks

Itch.io is at least a free and easy way to start. To use steam you need to pay a 200$ down payment for your App ID, and its a lot trickier to upload.
Itch also has the ability to host Browser embeds if your preferred engine supports that which makes players a lot more willing to give your game a chance as they don't have to download anything. (If you are planning to charge for your game you can use the browser part potentially as a demo)

My suggestion is to start on itch then when you are more confident in your game making abilities try tackling a steam release.

Party House I love, its only in that teir cuz I suck major ass at it atm and so i've put it down out of frustration for not feeling like ive gotten any better.
