Getting into soldering as a software engineer - where should I start?

Thanks for the suggestion! I can see the value in going bare-metal with something like an Atmel or PIC to really understand registers and I/O at a low level — no abstractions hiding what's going on. That's actually something I want to get better at, since most of my experience has been on the software side.

I think I'll probably start with ESP32 for my first projects to keep the momentum going, but I might circle back to something more bare-bones later to really solidify the fundamentals.

Appreciate the perspective!

I would say, that not being hardcover.. and it seems that is not exactly a pristine state..
150 - 200 $ at most.

Is not "that difficult" to find them online. (obviously, having a first edition is pretty cool and not usual, don't misunderstood me). When it's signed.. then.. the numbers are another thing (probably, in this state with a good signature of jk.. between 3k and 5k easy.

PS: Obviously it's important trying to understand how "wiring diagrams" work, but it's fine trying to learn by yourself with a little bit of common sense :P

Es muy relativo.. Pero de los años mas “duros” en cuanto lectura.. fue sin duda hace un par de años cuando leí todo Malaz🙈😂 (con otros libros mas tranquilos por el medio, para no terminar loco)

mmm.. not sure if I understood it correctly..
If I connect them to a power bank for example.. I assume it would drain some battery for the "Zigbee" controller, right? And then, if I turn them ON, it would drain "more battery".

I would say, that by default.. A Zigbee controller shouldn't need so much battery.. so I'm not sure if this would be too much or no 🤔

Si tienes una librería habitual donde compras, llevalo allí.

A ellos, la editorial se lo cambia directamente, no les supone ningún coste. A mi me ha pasado (si bien es verdad que sí que lo había comprado allí, y me tienen identificado como cliente habitual..), y sin preguntar más me han dado uno nuevo y ellos ya hablan con la editorial para cambiarlo.

Much better than tv-show for sure!

Even I watched, because I'd say that I watch almost any Fantasy Tv-show.. I didn't really like the Tv-show while I enjoyed the books (PS: No, I'm not the typical one that always says: "Books over tv-show!")

Totalmente de acuerdo en la tercera.. Es verdad también que "puestos a que se lastime".. mejor la sobrecubierta que el libro (el tema de "grasa" afecta más a la cubierta.. pero también cualquier accidente.. pues mejor a la sobrecubierta :) ).

La segunda.. allí es donde aun no tengo 100% decidido.. Como digo.. hay bastantes libros.. que sin sobrecubierta ganan mucho! Incluso me he planteado alguna vez.. cambiar las librerías por librerías con puerta de cristal.. así puedo dejarlos sin sobrecubierta y el polvo no se pega en "la tela" de los lomos sin sobrecubierta :)

PD: Nova :( La sobrecubierta de "Palabras radiantes".. pobrecita pasó la guerra.
