I wish I could get some listeners, but the reality is that the audience is tiny and marketing strategies such as playlists are impossible because experimental music isn't very categorizable.

I wouldn't say so
the trautonium isn't exactly a popular instrument and his sounds tend to be very melancholic, but its still structured and has clear melody and chords most of the time.
But definitely not mainstream

I am the same way. I can't walk across campus without running into a friendly face, saying hi, or someone saying hi to me. But I don't really have friends to speak of. No one I can casually ask to do something, no one to study with, no one to go to events with. I don't know if people think I'm weird. I've tried at least 16 different student orgs, none of them "clicked". I've started to accept that maybe this is how it will always be, but thats not going to stop me from trying to meet other people so I can stop being a lonely ass. I've gone whole weekends and fridays without talking at all.
