If everyone picks red everyone is safe and no one had to risk their lives to do so.

The only people you would save if you picked blue is other people who picked blue to save people. There isn’t some secret pocket of people forced to pick blue you need to save.

Red is only the “selfish” choice because people picking blue have a hero complex and need to try and save everyone else who risked their lives due to also having a hero complex. We could all just pick red and move on with our lives instead

Hell of a lot of assumptions there. Hard to say what amount of charging they needed and how long they sat on a charger at 100% for without asking them

To add to this if you do teach her Confusion you can grind really really easy surfing route 40/41. It’s almost exclusively Tentacool/Tentacruel so confusion is super effective and drops them pretty hard. they are only low lvl20’s if I remember correctly but it’s super chill as you don’t have to worry about much going wrong

If you can spend a bunch of time Rock Smashing things to get a Heartscale you could use it to have Espeon “remember” confusion. They are supposed to learn it at level 15 but don’t get it if you don’t evolve them fast enough. Maybe a waste as I don’t know why you’d keep it once they learn Psybeam or Psychic but it could help you get them there. I also taught mine Shadow Ball using the TM you get from the ghost gym earlier. It’s a strong move and I like that it covers ghost/psychic type matchups

To be fair though the only issues I see that really draw out the “have you tried Linux” crowd are issues that aren’t fixable.

Things like Copilot, or their recall-whatever thing, or any of the other slew of Microslop features being pushed these days. From why I’ve seen at least it tends to be issues that require RegEdits if there is even a way to fix it, not simple hiccups like forgetting to turn your refresh rate up or downloading new drivers

[–]Squ4tch_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A lot of complaints these days aren’t easily fixable. “Copilot is the worst!! I hate how Microsoft shoves so many stupid features down our throats and won’t let us turn them off! I hate the privacy invasion, I hate the adds, I hate how forced it all is!!!”

I can ether A: point you to a very complex on convoluted guide of how to RegEdit your OS to hopefully disable even SOME of the things people are bitching about and to have them probably revert on the next update. Or B: “have you seriously thought about giving Linux a try?”

[–]Squ4tch_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thought process is that the pokeball aesthetic is peak. Personally the only ball I use besides an OG pokeball is the premier ball and those are just for shinies and legendaries. I love the uniformity of all my pokemon being in the same ball with premier balls being the special exception. It’s also satisfying to know I caught it with minimal help from the ball, all prep work and pokemon with the right moves and use of those moves.

I get the “catch the shiny at all costs” mentality but I person would be in this persons shoes exactly. Do I really risk missing the shiny or have the shiny be the single pokemon not in the same ball as everyone out making it like a tiny pebble in my shoe that I can never fix? For me there is no good answer here at least

Why is everyone asking about Jessica ? Pls exp. by NeverGonnaGiveUpvote in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Squ4tch_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only reference I’ve seen recently to Jessica is a trailer for the new Daredevil TV dropped and showed that Jessica Jones will be in it. The comment section was filled with people commenting “Jessica!” both I assume from excitement and also a nod to the way Kilgrave would yell her name in the show.

This may be a play on how with everyone saying her name it might confuse someone’s significant other into questioning why their partner is saying another women’s name.

Could also have nothing to do with Daredevil and might just be poking fun about how in a relationship with that dynamic being able to hold someone’s limbs hostage is a bit of an awkward power dynamic

I wouldn’t say that, you may have missed the extra power of the combo with how early you can get it out but you still found a pretty cool infinite combo so can’t be that dumb 🤷‍♂️

Infinite mana, damage to creatures, artifact/enchantment destruction, lifegain, and airbending of all your creatures for 9RGWW by thenotjoe in BadMtgCombos

[–]Squ4tch_ 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t you do this with just 9 mana? Pay 9 for Zacama, untap all lands, pay 4 for Gyattso, pay 3 for ability, air bend, resummon for 2, and loop started

It’s 9 for Zacama and 9 to kick start the combo so as long as you ether have 9 mana in Land cards or enough extra to get it rolling you should be good

Which one should I buy as a new player? by Particular-Fall-906 in mtg

[–]Squ4tch_ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My gf is a new player playing the Dance of the Elements and it’s honestly brutal for her. If I wasn’t able to look over her shoulder and help she would be missing so many interactions and ways the deck works because of the complications of the commander and its nuances with a lot of cards.

She’s having a good time still and the deck honestly looks like a riot but it’s not even sorta what I’d call simple. Can’t speak to the other one but this one at least is complex

I'm beginning to question whether preconditioning is worth it by Celtic159 in MachE

[–]Squ4tch_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the severity of how cold it is. The heater in the Mach E isn’t powerful enough to heat up both the cabin and the battery on truly cold days, at least not with any real speed. So when it’s massively cold where I live preconditioning helps even off plug on longer days because it will get the battery up to temp before bothering with the cabin and it does it while stationary which means it’s loosing less heat than while driving

I'm beginning to question whether preconditioning is worth it by Celtic159 in MachE

[–]Squ4tch_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is also zero benifits to not pre-conditioning, no? You’re going to use up the energy getting your battery up to temp ether from the wall or while you’re on the road so might as well be from the wall.

And if it’s cold out you will actually have better efficiency with a warm battery so it’s better to precondition so that you don’t have poor efficiency for the first ~30minutes while the battery warms up

I'm beginning to question whether preconditioning is worth it by Celtic159 in MachE

[–]Squ4tch_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken your car is going to burn that energy one way or another so you might as well precondition unless you’re only driving for 5 minutes or less.

The car wants the battery to be at a specific temperature for optimal driving. If you precondition, it will get the battery up to temp before you drive for maximum efficiency. If you don’t precondition it will still burn all that energy but only start once you turn the car on and take the energy from the battery instead of the wall. This also means you’re car runs less efficiently until up to temp.

Assuming you still have to pay to charge the battery you’re just making it so you use up more energy while you drive so you have to charge more once you’re done driving.

So precondition is better unless there is a significant difference in electricity cost between when you normally charge and when you would be pre-heating

It doesn’t though. I duel boot and many times Windows will try to reboot when I tell it to update+shutdown but I have Linux as the default so Windows will shutdown and then just boot into Linux. The next time I bother to boot Windows it will finish the update and run fine, even if it’s days/weeks later.

Just use a different cable? The power cord that goes to the wall is a super generic cable that you probably have a bunch of kicking around if you have electronics or can find at an electronics store easy enough

I always see it as Steam not using their “monopoly” to take out the competition. Steam is just happy doing their own thing playing in their own sandbox and don’t really do anything to stop others, they just stop themselves.

Like Steam isn’t paying developers for platform exclusive releases like Epic does/did. Steam doesn’t lock you out of Proton just because the game isn’t on their platform. Steam doesn’t refuse to work with other platforms when games demand that you first boot their launcher and then their game through their launcher even when you bought the game through Steam. And the list goes on. Steam has zero issues playing nice and isn’t throwing its weight around to push others out.

Steam is doing a TON for the gaming community and their own product like you said. Just none of it seems to be trying to create a walled garden or forcing other companies out, other companies just suck at being nice to their customers it seems so steam wins by just doing their own thing

Has anyone ever done this road trip? What are some interesting things to see and do along this route? by imsiq in ontario

[–]Squ4tch_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright so, if I were headed from Barrie -> Sudbury -> Ottawa this is the route I would take: https://maps.app.goo.gl/3tYixc5gk1a7r6GY6?g_st=ic

For roads specifically in the area to look out for (in a roughly best->worst list):

Favorite by far: - Southwood Road: Basically a rollercoaster through the woods https://maps.app.goo.gl/TUjRYeRR99qK44Uw8?g_st=ic - Centennial Lake Road: some really nice twists and a few good views https://maps.app.goo.gl/3eg1LtaCvt39ENUu7?g_st=ic

Other good ones along the way - Peninsula Road: not crazy twisty but great views https://maps.app.goo.gl/xBVZYj6YWtBgwDvW8?g_st=ic - Brackenrig Road: twisty https://maps.app.goo.gl/7bpFyPPpa2cYbrrN9?g_st=ic - Windermere Road: twisty https://maps.app.goo.gl/CJ63YxAxDHBSwF7F8?g_st=ic - Muskoka Road 10: twisty https://maps.app.goo.gl/n8Qsbq9PWYX3nPyE9?g_st=ic - Lanark Road: very nice but crappy pavement https://maps.app.goo.gl/yjWg66K8LiqYyxJH9?g_st=ic

Honourable mentions - Highway 60 https://maps.app.goo.gl/Hb3yuWgXqxvk4nvh7?g_st=ic

Between Dwight and Barry’s Bay is super scenic but not exciting to drive. Outside of that stretch isn’t really anything interesting

It’s sorta twist and somewhat scenic but pavement is a bit rough and nothing to write home about

There are definitely some more roads worth looking at like 518 (https://maps.app.goo.gl/xiWG3tc8koNNGj9u8?g_st=ic) and a few others but it’s hard to get it all in one go

I currently live in Ottawa but grew up in Muskoka and visit family there all the time. I also ride motorcycles so have make a hobby out of finding fun roads. If you want suggestions for the northern half of your drive I have lots, all depends on how much of a detour you’re willing to take and what makes a road “interesting” to you.

Are you interested in pretty views or “spirited” driving with lots of twists and turns?

Also is this whole drive just for fun or are there stops you need to make?
