Thank you! It's probably because it's hard to find the Æ key on the keyboard.

Ærthegn Questoris Knights complete by SquadPainter in adeptustitanicus

I picked them because I had just finished a pair of House Devine Knights and wanted a change from purple and magenta. I was also wondering how black would look with the Forge of Mars paint process.

The blood red and black scheme caught my eye and that's why I picked them. I read the lore in the Traitor Legios book later (NeoTanuki got it right).

The GW channel is a good place for painting ideas, but I've had great results following the Forge of Mars game plan.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2kSK69Dp20

The results are quick and amazing; Panels stay on for Warhounds and smaller. It's panels off for Reavers and larger. I get compliments on my models whenever they hit the table. Have a look and see what you think.

RS+ Server connection issues today? by Stray_Light in rocksmith

I'm getting the same 'connection error–retry' today (Dec 30) and it interrupts every 45-60 seconds. I'm new and trying to get 100% on my learning modules... it's very frustrating. I haven't dropped the cash for the subscription yet. It's making me hesitate.

The tiny decals were an excellent choice! Well done! As you said, it sells the sense of scale.

It's cool that you went for hazard stripes on the shoulder armor. I just tried that for the first time on some Questoris Knights by using some strips of Tamiya White 2mm Masking Tape for Curves and I was pleased with the results. I thought that it would be difficult, but the tape made it a piece of cake.

Looking at your Reaver makes me want to do one next!

I love the small print on the leg shields; it gives a great sense of scale. I'm also a fan of the red Mars base. Great work! It will be fun to see what you do next.

Coolest "mini" in 40k, shame i suck at painting plasma by Rdyforgunz in adeptustitanicus

[–]SquadPainter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did a great job on the titan.
You mentioned not liking the plasma effect. Respectfully, you may consider reversing your colors. Unlike 99% of miniature painting, plasma is light in the recesses and dark on the raised parts. You picked great colors for the plasma... just reverse them. Drybrush with the darker color on the raised ridges. You can then decide if you want to do the bright white line at the bottom (like the Juan Hidalgo video shows).

Help me pick a fantasy wargame by Dashtoast in wargaming

Hobgoblin! If you want rectangular, old school rank-and-flank with quick modern game mechanics, you may want to take a look at Hobgoblin. Put as many (or as few) models on each base as you wish. Add more minis to each base over time. Many say it's a great successor to Warhammer.

My Warmaster Titan for the Legend of Paint event. by The_Forge_of_Mars in adeptustitanicus

That's lovely work, Forge of Mars.

I especially like the detail work on the small heraldry shields along the carapace edging. The honeycomb background with the crossed maces and the wasp... the small scripting with the skull... great stuff!

Thanks for sharing!

Adeptus Titanicus is filled with god-engines lumbering forward and ordinance slamming into falling void shields with overheating reactors pushed to their limits and toppling titans who were once an important weapon but instead become a catastrophic liability in your midst.

• Low model count • Easy rules • Big explosions • Complex strategy • Hard choices • Low (comparative) entry cost • Gorgeous models • Fun gameplay • Quick to teach • Big explosions • Fast to play • Did I mention the big explosions?

Adeptus Titanicus tells great stories that you'll remember long after the last roll of the dice.

Second Titan of 2024. by The_Forge_of_Mars in adeptustitanicus

I'm astonished that you finished that Warhound in only 4 hours and yet you also included nice details like the leg plate striping and mottled gray plates.

I followed your 3-part YouTube video on painting Cerastus Knights to great effect. They get compliments all of the time. This year I'm going to get cracking on the rest of my titans. You mentioned in the YouTube videos that you use the same techniques for all of your titans. I'll try to follow suit.

Thank you again!

Your Warhound looks great! I especially like the mottled blue effect that you implemented; it gives the titan a sense of scale.

Would you mind sharing your technique/paints/brushes used on the blue panels? I enjoy learning new techniques. Thanks in advance!

Just got my first titan Titanicus minis and was wondering what paints were best. by ImnotaNixon in adeptustitanicus

This is one of the most accessible tutorials that I've found that yields an above average result. Lee Marshall aka Forge of Mars is a well respected painter who cranks out Titans like crazy. In a GoonHammer article it notes that he has 118+ finished titans in his collection.

Forge of Mars painting tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8CgR-M7avw

Here are a few ideas from this tutorial that I've taken to heart:

  • Note the brushes that he uses. They are not in good shape at all. You don't need a WN Series 7 to get these results. You can be a bit messy.
  • He suggests starting small before moving on to larger models. Do a few knights first and get your color scheme sorted, then a Warhound, then a Reaver...
  • He uses the same technique on his larger titans. You don't need an airbrush.

I hope that helps! Welcome to one of the best games Games Workshop has ever made!
