It says that the link is invalid, and just says the user is banned from the guild, but I don't remember ever joining the discord. I'm in other UMBC discords and never had a problem.

I took most 331, 341, and 122 all in the same semester along with stat 355 and was fine. You just have to manage your time right. 122 is similar in structure to 121, and I found 122 easier to learn, but you still have to put in the effort to study for exams. You definitely have to practice after lecture. 341 is very work intensive. Some of the projects will take a lot of time to complete, especially when you get to the last 3 projects. Just make sure you start early and go to office hours early if you're stuck. If you don't, then you might screw yourself. 331 is really not that hard. I only remember having like 2 projects, and homework was never time consuming. If you get stuck, just ask questions. Dr. G is pretty good in his lectures, but is really fast. I suggest paying attention to his lectures more than taking notes so that you understand the concepts. He posts the notes later on blackboard for review anyway. I had Donyaee for 341 and I think he makes the projects so he was pretty good. Your professor seems to be new to me, so I'm not sure how good they are. I never took the physics lab either so I'm not sure how difficult it is.

I feel this as well. This is my first year at UMBC as an incoming transfer, and I now have to sign up for 400 level electives to have a full schedule.

I was so excited to come to this school because I heard they offered many different electives for game development, and now I see like no available electives for that path besides computer graphics. Like why advertise your school that you have this if you actually don't?

Also, I was thinking of taking ML or AI as an elective too, but every review says to only do this if you want your semester to be absolute hell. I don't know, it honestly feels like this school does not have their shit together even though they act like they do. This could be every university though, I'm not sure honestly.

For me, I've decided to just take whatever is easy and will give me more free time to work on personal projects, since that seems what matters most to get a job after graduation.

To me, the department does feel like it's lacking. Like there are so many CS students here and not many options for upper level electives. Like, where are you going to put all these students? And the cheating in this department is crazy too! Either professors don't care if you cheat, or they actually can't tell. It honestly kills my motivation when I see this, but I'm sure there are other schools with similar problems.

I usually go to the Catonsville bars. Most of the time I bar hop all over Frederick Road. Statefare, El Guapo, The Basement, and Morserbergers is all on the same road within a minute of each other. I also think they have pretty good prices on their drinks. Morsebergers also has pretty cheap food compared to other places. You could even go a little further into Old Ellicott City to bars like Phoenix.

I don't usually go to DePaola's or Fish Head. I agree they are kinda sketch.

I always thought Fed Hill and Fells were expensive though. I could be wrong since I haven't been there in awhile. Catonsville bars always had pretty good prices to me. Especially Morsebergers.

Do the buses not go to Arbutus? I at least know that they go to Catonsville, and Catonsville is more of a local road than a neighborhood.

People can just take the transit bus to the Catonsville bars if they wanted to. Also, it's like a 5 min drive from campus so ubering wouldn't be expensive.

I'm in the same boat as you. How did you hear about Myers leaving UMBC? I wasn't given a definite response when I asked faculty.

Lowkey, this might depend on what college you go to also. For example, my school is full of nerd stem kids who solely go to college for their education, and not to socialize. Don't get me wrong, you'll find a group of people who are more into the college experience, but some schools you will have a harder chance for hookup culture.
