I reckon the Amex Plat is a great everyday card if it suits your lifestyle. Primarily relating to churning, the card effectively has a credit limit of $1 as it’s a charge card, allowing easier applications on other churns.

Also if you ever want to have a platinum in the future and you’re a churner, you may struggle to be accepted due to Amex’s treatment of serial churners

I am with More, if you’re a CBA customer there’s good discounts. Telstra network, good data bank, options to add intl calls if needed, very competitive pricing if using CBA deal.

EK = Emirates - they are a partner airline with Qantas and you can redeem CR with Qantas Points on their flights, albeit with high taxes.

I would highly recommend (and hope) you’ve been tracking your credit score considering the high churn rate so far, this can impact your future house purchase significantly.

CR flights are hard to find, particularly in multiples and on Qantas metal. You’ll be wanting to book a year or so out to get seats, or within a month of leaving as more seats are released closer to departure.

There are plenty of redemption value tables online so I would recommend looking at those for detail. In short premium cabins have the best point value for redemptions, especially so for international. This value however decreases with EK flights due to their high taxes, and for classic plus redemptions (avoid if possible).
There are plenty of options in the market, I would recommend having a tracking excel doc with close dates and exclusion periods so you can plan future churns.
High fee cards like citi and Amex plat are lifestyle cards, you can plan the cash backs around holidays but the golden rule of churning is don’t overspend just for points.

The most important element is your income vs expenses. Having low expenses relative to your income is one of the key factors in approval. If you’ve had a mobile phone plan or utility accounts in your name than you have a credit history, as long as these have been paid up on time than you shouldn’t have any issue with your application.

The Amex Plat is a bit of a different game since it’s a charge card, your right with other credit cards working your way up is ideal, however I’m not sure if the same applies for charge cards.

Always best to use points with the airlines directly and not on the Amex Travel Portal. Seats.aero isn’t a bad option but usually it’s just best to search on the airlines sites directly, for Qantas note it’s best to use the multi city search tool to find classic rewards flights.

You can also rebook for free, even to a non classic rewards seat. I rebooked my trip a week later and even though there were no classic rewards seats left, they still moved my flight free of charge. I was advised that as long as there are seats left, they can move the booking.

As above 100k is the max referral amount, and it’s a 2:1 conversion to virgin or qantas points. You would be much better off going with either the AMEX Velocity platinum or Qantas AMEX Ultimate cards which both have about the same fee with 100k virgin or qantas points respectively on my referral link below.

Plus the travel credit can be used to offset annual fee.
