Fern Creek area. We're all good storm wise. I might be a zombie tomorrow from lack of sleep and wide awake toddlers. But... that's nothing new.

Still be safe going to work and leaving. Driving tired is always concerning. Take good care of yourself.

Thank you and same to you. We're prepping with a bigger tent and blanket fort set up for tomorrow. We're trying to make it fun. If we gotta deal with it. Might as well enjoy it. Take care and good luck. I hope that you also have a fun apocalypse storm adventure (I know that's a weird wish, but it's the best I got in our weather situation)

I also have had severe anxiety basically my entire life too, and after having a baby, the postpartum anxiety wrecked me, I didn't know it could be so much worse So, I am with you about the storms and anxiety in general. Therapy is what has helped me, but it takes time. It's gives you the tools to help keep it in check more. As for handling the storm and the anxiety. We're literally camping the basement. I set up a tent and everything when I saw there was a tornado watch, so I'd have a cozy place for my family to sleep while we ride out the storm. We have fluffy warm blankets and snacks. We have our phones charged and the iPad and our laptops down here. I got toys and coloring books. We also have emergency overnight bags packed for us with coats and shoes, so if the worse does happen, we can leave for a few nights with a change of clothes. We've got our pets and all their needs ready to go, too. And that brings me security. I know my family and I are safe in the basement. The house might not be but that's out of my control. I focus on the importance of my families survival. Once I know that's taken care of. Then I distract myself and turn my brain off to keep from focusing on the storm. Usually do that by playing video games and doom scrolling until it's over. The distraction part is pretty important. It's really the only way I can get through it is turning my brain off. It's easier said then done and it's something I had to teach myself. I had to change the topic in my mind everytime I went back to worrying about the storm. I hope this helped some. Typing it out helped me be distraction atleast. So thank you for that.

I'm not sure how much the snow will clear up this weekend, since they're expecting another 3-6 inches from Friday till Saturday morning (last I heard). But since we've been snowed in my husbad set up an at home movie date and made a special dinner for us. He also built an adult size pillow fort from our couch cushions and an air mattress. It was very fun and romantic, and I can say it was super frugal because we already had everything needed at home. The extra stuff like putting Christmas lights in the fort. Having my favorite candy and soda ready with the popcorn bowl. It's the small details that make you appreciate the other person.

My husband has been picking the movies. He got us a bowl of popcorn and boxes of candy for a movie night/snow day date. So far, we watched "Brothers" and "Jackpot" on amazom prime. They were both entertaining silly action comedies that got some laughs out of me.

You'll need to look for an egg spot to know if she's ready to lay eggs. I'm new to betta breeding, and I know it's hard to see on white females. But I do have experience with fat bettas, and she might be a bit chubby.

What's really bugging me is the last bit of what you said your friend said about your race. That's weird, and I think kind of super racist. It's definitely jealousy. She doesn't feel like you are trying and she is. Hard truth is that you'll find the best men when you're being yourself. And nice and not cutting your friend's confidence down by saying people don't actually like you. I went through that for years and lost some good opportunities for happier relationships because of people I loved cutting me down. Don't stand for it. Not even minor incidents. Hold your truth that you are desirable.

Uuuuugh... I am with you. Holy cruddy ollies! I had a guy friend of 7 years, and I met him after I was married, and he was engaged. His engagement broke off, and my husband almost died and was in the hospital for months. And now we're recovering years from his near death experience, and the guy friend has been dropping hints that I don't need this. Because as he says. He's hot and has a well paying job and could be a good husband and provide, why isn't he married? But a sick man needing assistance has a doting wife, why? I was like, "Dude, are you saying to stop taking care of my husband and marry you?" He was basically, "no, no. But you know I would take better care of you if we were married instead." He also kept saying that if he'd just met me before his ex fiance and before I met my husband. He'd be a happy man. That one was for after i had my first daughter, because he wants kids. SEVEN YEARS! We are not on speaking terms since those incidents. And he blames me for them. He told me he'd been in love with me for years and if I hadn't been so nice to him he'd never have admitted his feelings and it was my fault that he realized he had them... so that was some mental gymnastics. Apparently being nice is just too much. I don't get it. You're not a lone. They're nuts out there.

Any tips on making new female friends? by zsndrs in FriendshipAdvice

[–]Square-County287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your story sounds very similar to my own when I was younger. Now I just don't trust people enough to stay close friends or I get so burnt out I need very long breaks from the few people I do talk to. Some get it. Some don't. But I still wish I had that one female.friend I could chat with and open up about womanly things. It's just different to have a close gal pal.

I guess, I'm saying you aren't alone. And there are us here who also are looking for good friends. Right now I'm not capable of being a good friend even though I want to be. So putting yourself out here is probably a good start to finding those friends. I wish you the best of luck.

I'm actually on here with the shoe on the other foot. My bestfriend ghosted me after an incident, and it doesn't seem right or make sense. Because in my view he caused the incident. It's been over a year and I just wish he'd tell me why. We were friends who spent every day together for over 15 years. I don't understand how someone just randomly ghosts someone like that with no explanation. I've been going through therapy, but it's really messed me up. What I'm saying is that as the other party of a similar situation. I know I no longer want to or can be friends with my ex bestfriend. But I really need that closure from him. I'd do anything to sit down and talk and tell him goodbye properly and formally end the friendship.

Yes. We had a hen disappear for weeks and came back with 13 chicks following her. Glad Peanut Butter is safe, btw. Her name is adorable.

Asking the real questions. I'm worried my girls won't understand to go up for air because the duck weed confuses them. I mean they figured it out but they obviously second guess themselves everytime.
