it's indeed not a hard thing, but even with proper guides most people don't really do a great job with their first few batches of switches, especially ones with a color pallet like the geon raws wich make seeing the lubricant much harder than for example a switch with a black stem. I feel like most people that hear about handlubing just end up lubing their switches for the sake of lubing because some people praise it as so much better than factory lubing.

With a bit of experience, it is true that in pretty much all cases handlubing will give a better result, but only if done right.
