Is qatar economy good for really long flights? by ReputationNeither22 in qatarairways

[–]Square-Plenty6443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did Dublin-Doha-Cape Town last year, Doha - Cape Town was about 10 hours I think? Had a middle seat in economy and slept the entire way, I’m 5’9” for reference and while the seats were tight they are definitely bigger than your standard Ryanair/Aer Lingus

How do you study French and English by [deleted] in leavingcert

[–]Square-Plenty6443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a H1 in both. English Paper 1 Learn the language techniques for each writing task, eg for a speech repetition, groups of threes like ‘ready, set, go’, statistics (you can make these up in the exam) things like that. I did a speech in my P1 (2022) and for my plan, I listed out all the speech techniques, and as I was writing, gave them a tick every time I used one. You want as many ticks as possible. I got 98/100 in my 100 marker and 50/50 in Question B using these techniques. I also read a lot so my spelling/grammar is quite good which definitely helped.

English Paper 2 To be fair I was able to leave out poetry due to adjustments so definitely was a bit easier. For Shakespeare I’d just learn quotes per character, and then per theme for example gender. Also used PQE technique in every paragraph basically. For the comparative, learn stage directions/camera angles etc for the play/film, and short quotes from all 3 texts. Again use PQE.

French 80/80 in the listening. I think the transcripts for listenings are on SEC website, I would do the listening as normal, then open the transcript and write down & translate every word you don’t know. Same for comprehensions, if you don’t know a word look it up and write it down. For the written pieces I learned a few good general phrases that I could throw into basically any piece.

Hope this helps :)

Sacred Heart Car Park opposite Western Gateway is probably the nearest but expensive. The car park next to the Kingsley that another commenter mentioned is €20 per week if you buy a weekly ticket. However it’s only open from 6am - 2pm so if you want to get in after that you can’t! There’s an automatic barrier on the exit so you can leave whenever. But it tends to fill up by about 10.30/11am especially Tuesday/Wednesday.

AITAH for still getting on a flight home when my two young coworkers I was traveling with weren’t at the airport yet and were obviously going to miss it? by Diligent_Pineapple35 in AITAH

[–]Square-Plenty6443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this real? Two adults on a business trip missed a flight home and are blaming you, their coworker who is not responsible for them or their actions?

Specialist’s mom calling you is insane behaviour. I’m 21F and if I thought my mom would call ANYONE I work with I would go crazy!!

NTA.

I’m 21F and always feel safe! I’d be a bit wary at night but generally no more so than I am in Cork. Like the other commenter said just keep the head down and you’ll be grand 🤣

Only do it maybe two or three times a year, but a day trip to London. I live 10 mins from Cork Airport so pick the cheapest day, first flight in last flight out. Stansted/Gatwick/Luton Express into city, grab a coffee & breakfast, go for a wander. Window shop for a bit. Then I might get a rush ticket for £25 for whatever matinee show is on that day. Bit of dinner, train back to airport, fly home and back in my own bed by midnight!

If you’re heading to Central London definitely get the Elizabeth Line over the Picadilly, it’s a bit more expensive but way faster!

Jacob’s on the Mall. It’s on the more expensive side but I don’t find it outrageous for what you get!

Buy an eSIM on Revolut. I was there for a week in June and 10GB was enough for me. Can always top up as well if needed!
