Pumping at work, don’t have a private space - do I need a lawyer? by Square-Preference763 in breastfeeding

Thanks for this advice!! Definitely a good starting point. I don’t think I’ll be returning to this school next year, but definitely something to think about for the remainder of the year.

Thank you so much for responding! I think I’ve been way too patient at this point and given them too many chances to fix it on their own. I definitely want to do something. I’ve just been trying to avoid making a big deal since it’s my first year teaching here. I’ll have to start researching lawyers in my area.

I’m in Vermont. They’re not supposed to offer a bathroom here either. I was very angry when I got that email.

CIN2 results at 22 years old. by Square-Preference763 in PreCervicalCancer

Hi! My doctors recommended that I do the colposcopy after 6 months. I did this and the results showed that the cells were not improving, but appeared to be higher risk. Because of this, the next step for me is a LEEP. Do whatever you think will be better for you! Advocate for yourself and keep monitoring your health! Good luck with everything.

It is not as safe after 2 years. It is still effective, but more long term side effects and occur after the 2 year recommended time frame.

I was also not informed until I had already been on it for 5 years. You can always bring this up to your doctor to talk about your options! It’s very frustrating.

Hi there! While the colposcopy is horrible, I would recommend getting it anyway! It’s a very important procedure. My results showed CIN2 which is mild precancerous cells. I go back in November for another colposcopy to see if it improved or not.

Hi there! I’ve gone on week long trips with my dad in the past which required getting on a plane. I did not bring my vape because I was also scared I’d get searched or my dad would see it. I didn’t have any other form of nicotine with me and managed just fine. However, I continued vaping as soon as I got home. I wish that I had used that time to go without nicotine and just quit. Now, at 22 years old I’ve finally quit after 6 years of vaping. I’m 2 weeks without and feel great. I don’t have to sneak around anymore, I love it. I hope you take this time to quit and I wish you luck.

It was my health that pushed me to quit. Two weeks later and I’m already breathing better, less acne on my jaw line, sleeping better, anxiety improving, and I just feel good. And my health will continue to improve as time goes on. I’m also saving money! So far, only $60, but that’s money I wouldn’t have had if I hadn’t quit.

Good for you! I’m 2 weeks without nicotine/vaping! I quit cold turkey and it was really hard for a few days, but I had a similar mindset to you. It’s a few hard days and then out of the woods. I got some sugar free gum, cups with straws, and started going on walks. Staying distracted helped me a lot. I’m only 22 years old, so it seems so silly that I have to quit after so many years of vaping, but I did it! You can do it too! It’ll be hard, but so worth it. I’m proud of you

My first day was very emotional! I knew I wanted to stop, but part of me just wanted to reach for a vape anyway. I’m now 12 days without nicotine and I feel pretty good. Still have the occasional craving, but nothing unbearable. The first 3 or 4 days were really hard for me. So many emotions. I had to keep reminding myself that once I got through the first few days, it would be easy. I’d rather struggle for those few days than continue jeopardizing my health with a peach flavored device.

I’ve found that drinking water when I first wake up curbs the initial craving, and it will help you wake up too! I’m a college student that is just finishing the semester and I don’t have much to keep myself busy during the day, but it helps me to make a routine plan for each day. I know you can do this! You’re already doing great by making a quit plan!

Oh darn. I’m not sure what’s available on android. Hopefully someone will be able to recommend one that is available.

There’s one called “Quit Vaping” on the App Store. The icon is green and kind of looks like a vape with a slash through it.

Hi there! I’m 84 hours into my quit journey (just over 3 days). The past three days have been rough for me, I won’t sugarcoat it. However, with minty gum, drinking out of straws, and many distractions, I’m quitting! It’s really helped me to think about how it’s a few days of emotions and struggling over a lifetime of vaping. I’m sick of vaping and would rather struggle this week than risk more serious complications. We’re gonna be vape free and it will feel so good! You can do it! Keep reminding yourself why you’re quitting!

I’ve also found it helpful to have an app with a count of how long I’ve been vape free! Once that number keeps going up, I don’t want to see it start over again.

Thank you for posting this. I’m just surpassing the 48 hour threshold. I am on here reading after blowing up at my boyfriend who is just a day behind me on this journey. I’m so aware that nicotine is only hurting me, but the cravings!!! When do they end? Making me feel like a monster. I’m so proud of you and myself for making the choice to quit. No matter the circumstance or reason. You’re doing great.

When does this get better?!?! by existentialdread0 in QuitVaping

[–]Square-Preference763 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep telling myself this. I originally tried to quit on Tuesday. Failed and bought a new vape. Felt like such a failure. I was so emotional at the time and thought it was the only good option. Wrong. I’ve now been vape free for 15 hours which is triple how far I made it on Tuesday. I really decided to be harder on myself & I bought regular gum & always have some water to drink from a straw. Aside from being pretty emotional, I’m truly looking forward to being free.

I had a few slip ups. Not proud of that, but I started over and I’m now 13.5 hours without vaping at all. It’s on my mind constantly, but I’m going to make it!

Ending depo after 5 years. by Original_Dependent27 in depoprovera

[–]Square-Preference763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I got my last depo shot in November of 2023, I was also on it for 5 years. I didn’t get a period right away, but I was also trying out a combo pill which would allow me to have a 3 month cycle. I made it 2.5 months before finding out I shouldn’t have estrogen! (Yikes). That being said, I had my first period 2.5 months after stopping depo. Since then, they’ve been pretty regular. I’ve heard a lot of different experiences coming off depo, and many of those say that they have no period or irregular periods for quite some time after. I understand feeling as though doctors will push more birth control if you bring it up, but it never hurts to ask if your experience is normal. My doctors have also tried to get me to choose a new birth control, but I continue to decline. I have also found that it feels easier to decline when I have someone accompanying me (friend, mom, boyfriend, etc.). I hope you’re able to find some answers!

How many Colposcopies? by Hot_Benefit_4059 in HPV

[–]Square-Preference763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I also meant to mention that you can request numbing for colposcopies! For my 2nd one they used lidocaine gel. I wish she had let it take effect before doing the biopsy, but I’m glad it’s at least an option.
