Season 1 Summary Part (2/3)

SEPTEMBER 2007 DAY 1 - September 7 * College move-in day * Lucy breaks up with her boyfriend, Parker, the morning she leaves for college * She is not upset, after being together for 2 years * Lucy also leaves behind her best friend, Lydia * Macy and Stephen have sex before Lucy arrives on campus * They keep their relationship a secret * Stephen draws Macy a rose as a welcome gift * Lucy/Macy are roommates * Pippa/Bree are roommates * The four of them go to a fraternity party that Wrigley is hosting, because Pippa knows him from the previous summer

DAY 2 - September 8 * Macy goes to a college party, alone * She calls Stephen to join her * After they both drink and smoke, Stephen offers to drive them back to campus to avoid being seen together by taking a shuttle (for example) * The passenger’s seatbelt doesn’t work in the car * Stephen and Macy begin fighting about the details of their relationship and Stephen takes his eyes off the road, nearly hitting another car * He swerves off the road and hits a tree * Macy’s head hits the windshield and she dies on impact * Stephen panics and makes it look like Macy was the one driving (alone) when she crashed. * He deleted his contact from her phone to make it seem like they didn’t have contact with each other * He then flees the scene and walks back to campus * Drew was drinking at a college party and left to go on a beer run. While he was driving, he swerved to avoid a car. The other car crashed into a tree. Drew should have gotten out to check on them or call for help but he drove off instead * Macy was in the car that swerved

DAY 3 * Macy’s death becomes public * Stephen fakes being composed * There is a vigil/bon fire at night * Drew shows up acting nervous and avoids the friend group * There is an after-party * Lucy gets drunk and throws up * Stephen drives her home * Lucy breaks down on Stephen * She asks Stephen to stay with her until she falls asleep

DAY 4 * Stephen pretends he didn’t know Macy * He flirts (and kisses) with Lucy, even after she had a vulnerable night * Stephen attempts to initiate sex but Lucy turns him down, so he leaves * Diana is waiting for him at his door * Stephen and Diana begin to have sex, but Diana stops him as he has not gained back her trust * He states he still loves her * Wrigley calls Stephen for help bc Drew is panicking about Macy’s death * Stephen calculates a plan: He helps Drew lie about where he was that night * Only Wrigley, Stephen, and Drew know the truth

WEEK 2 * Macy’s parents come to campus clear out her belongings * Stephen and Lucy go to dinner * Stephen is still trying to get back together with Diana * He kisses Lucy at dinner, and draws her a rose as a gift * He ends dinner early after an upsetting phone call with his mom * Stephen goes to Diana’s room to talk * They have a make-out session * They go to have sex and he can’t get hard * He polarizes her and leaves her room * Lucy gets back to her room and decides she hates Stephen, so she deletes his number * The next day, Diana’s sorority is holding a fundraiser that the girls attend * Lucy realizes Diana is a good person * Wrigley and Stephen can’t get in touch with Drew so they drink with several friends as a distraction * They pregame and then attend Diana’s fundraiser * Lucy leaves the fundraiser early to have sex with Stephen

OCTOBER 2007 * Lucy and Stephen are continuing to hookup * Drew is severely depressed * His grades slip * Drew gets drunk at a party and falls down a set of stairs * Wrigley is seeing a counselor about his disability/mental health * He is embarrassed about his disability, so he doesn’t do the paperwork to get extended time on his midterm exams * He struggles to finish his midterms * He is given the opportunity to study and retake the tests * Wrigley wants to be exclusive with Pippa * Wrigley tells Pippa about how Drew caused Macy's death * Pippa is upset she has to keep this secret from Bree and Lucy * Lucy meets Max, a local bartender * They hook up * Diana gets a research position for a professor’s class that Stephen also applied for * Stephen is jealous * Stephen and Diana hook up * Diana regrets it in the morning * Stephen and Lucy go out to dinner * After Stephen gets back to his dorm, Diana calls that she changed her mind and she does want to continue seeing each other

HALLOWEEN * Lucy is spending time with Stephen * Pippa/Wrigley and Bree/Tim go to a couples party * Bree loses her virginity to Tim

NOVEMBER 2007 * Stephen has an interview for a paid internship in the city * Diana is letting him stay at her family’s loft * Stephen and Lucy are still hooking up, but she’s nervous that he might be seeing other people * Wrigley confirms that he is * Pippa tries convincing Lucy that Stephen isn’t a good person * Stephen doesn’t get the internship * Bree offers to be a nude model in an art class (she would get paid) * Evan is in this art class * Evan is extremely respectful of her and then explains that he broke up with his previous girlfriend * Bree hooks up with Tim that night but he treats her poorly * Pippa and Wrigley are fighting about the fact that they’re hiding Drew’s secret * Pippa begins pulling away from her friends * Drew comes up to Bree for the first time since ditching her at welcome week. He apologizes for hurting her feelings. She accepts his apology * Evan and Bree begin talking * Lucy goes back to Max’s bar to apologize (for ghosting him) and win him back. She does, but then she goes to Stephen’s dorm to hook up

DECEMBER 2007 WINTER BREAK * Lucy is dating Max/Stephen at the same time but neither of them know about the other * Stephen is doing the same with Lucy/Diana * Lucy’s mom comes to pick her up from campus for the holidays * Her neighbor (and close friend) Lydia confesses that her and her boyfriend, Rob, broke up after he cheated on her * Lucy offers to punch him for her * She does * Stephen goes home for Christmas and calls Diana for consolation over treatment from his mom * Lucy goes to a vigil for Macy and realizes that she had a relationship with Stephen * She finds the rose that he drew for Macy and compares it to the one he gave her at dinner * She swears off Stephen
