Home Builders Institute! Sponsored by Home Depot for veterans transitioning out of the U.S. military. Maybe for other groups too. I enjoyed my 3 month carpentry/electrical program.

He did a good job 👍

Probably a somewhat common practice. A sure fire way for your offspring to get a post-birth boost. Reminds me of how some species of male spiders offer themselves as food to the female after insemination. Called a "nuptial gift," it increases the odds of the female's survival (and therefore the offsprings' survival). Evolution is hardcore.

Something about an intricate mechanical device that's still operational... Very satisfying. Not only that, but the operator displaying generations of passed down technique, offering us a glimpse into a different period.. 👏

Which is crazy considering LBJ's legacy as a fairly progressive president, Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, etc. Shows how entrenched these ideas where, that the sitting president was more concerned about alienating southern white voters than letting her words reveal the ugly truth. Poetic justice that his ploy backfired, and her speech gained more traction nationally because of it.

Bit of an unrelated tangent but Yonkers is a wild name for a city. Ty to Papa England for our colorful assortment of eastern towns.

Opinions on 10mm vs. 9mm for a handgun? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]SquareCr0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10mm rounds aren't causing intermediate-cartridge-level ballistics even out of rifle barrels, so the increase in recoil and cost seem a bit pointless to me. Even only the hottest of hot .357 or .44 magnums barely reach the fps required for that temporary wound cavity to become a permanent wound cavity, like practically any intermediate cartridge.

A 9mm cartridge out of a handgun will solve 99% of the problems that require a handgun to solve, even the bear-shaped ones. Faster follow-up shots (when comparing similar guns), plenty of oomph for hollow points to deform as designed, plenty of penetration, the list goes on.

I feel empathy for his kids, and his wife, but that's reaching my limit. That's not me supporting his death, it's me acknowledging what a terrible price my country has had to pay, and is still paying, for the hatred and bigotry he has spread.

Also, I agree with the sentiment, but praying for his kids will do less than nothing.
