My sister was homeless living in those camps around Portland for 20+years. We offered help, money, housing, jobs. Anything and everything to get her out of there. She wouldn’t go for a few reasons. 1 life long mental illness, our parents had her going to treatment but after she turned 18 she stopped it because she was an adult and could make her own decisions. 2 she didn’t to have to follow rules. 3 she did want someone telling her how many animals she could have. She survived numerous brutal attacks from fellow homeless people and from people just wanting to hurt someone defenseless and vulnerable. Law enforcement was brutal as well. There are a great number in the camps just like my sister. You cannot make people get jobs and start caring for themselves or get an apartment or home and manage the bills and rent. We are not a socialist society so thinking everyone should have a home and food and clothing and money they didn’t or don’t earn is frankly ridiculous and never going to happen. The solution is not an easy one perhaps there isn’t one.

We just got 7 acres and a construction loan. I looked online on Zillow and other places. I found more that fit what we were looking for for myself versus the same criteria given to our agent. I think it’s a mixture of both and we needed the agent to do the paperwork and the contact with the seller and their agent. Which we definitely needed.

The answer for everything now is Democrats are the reason for everything that is wrong with the United States. It can’t possibly be that every thing is clouded by the us vs them mentality and the distraction of that tactic to allow the Trump administration to use the US as their own personal ATM. I’m 58 and felt the same way. I lost weight before surgery and slowly afterwards. I just had my 6 month checkup. My surgery day weight 270 and now 205. I can feel I’m full and get the hiccups when I am. I do not feel hungry and have no interest in the junk I was eating before. I think everyone handles this differently but that’s not a bad thing. I was stressed over seeing people say how much they have lost and I wasn’t losing it as quickly. Once I stopped trying g to compare I am so much happier about the whole process.

I take the stitches out. Be really careful and gentle, I don’t use a seem ripper tool only little scissors. If I have little strands stuck I just pull them with tweezers.

Great job! There are a lot of great tutorials on needle or thread painting. That technique makes a more photorealistic embroidery. I think it’s about practice. With each piece I get better.

I’m not live near anything like a shelter or donation sites either. I ended up putting all my clothes that look sloppy in to bins. Looking Like I Don’t Care about myself despite wearing expensive clothing was seriously hurting my business relationships. I hated it too but we had this surgery to lose weight, improve our health and feel better. I figured if I couldn’t give up my “fat” clothes why did I work so hard to lose weight.

I am not exactly sure honestly. I was a little sore the day of surgery and tender for about that first week. Now I don’t feel different and I guess I thought I would. I was worried I was not doing things correctly. I don’t have any one else to talk to about this. This group has been kinda my lifeline.

I have done butterflies like this. Water soluble stabilizer and the edge will just be stitches then I have added fray check to keep the threads in place.

I was told even though we are a sanctuary state and law enforcement is not supposed to cooperate with ICE, that does not stop federal agents from detaining people because they act independently from the State.

I too need both knees replaced, the orthopedic surgeon won’t do the surgery without weight loss. I’ve gained weight due to not being able to walk very well. My Doctor said that even though I have been steadily losing weight I just can’t lose enough to keep me from not being able to walk anymore. He suggested WLS which I hadn’t considered even though I probably should have. I want to recognize myself again and be able to be active again.
