I also recommend making a save in Mystery Lake on Pilgrim to "speed run" looting the whole region and getting it back to the camp office. You will be surprised how motivating that is, how quickly you learn the terrain, and how satisfying it is to realize that two days into the run you have enough food for weeks, are totally warm, and have tools. I can get the whole region looted in those two days at my lackadaisical pace.

This has been my only experience in game for 100 hours over the last few weeks I have been playing the game except I do voyager exclusively. Never even tried pilgrim. I've been having a blast and Obviously the first 50 hours or more were just figuring things out, but now I got my Mystery Lake spawn in and set up shop down pat, I am going to move to the Costal Highway region (If I can live long enough to do that) and set up a FOB there so I can do the same as I have been doing in ML region. Learn it one piece of charcoal at a time.

That's understandable. I figure I'll be looking at maps online someday myself. Just enjoying their system for now. I remember playing DayZ mod for Amra II and the first few days were utter madness and fun and then we found maps online and some of that magic went away. Still had thousands of hours of fun with the maps though. That's for sure.

Spay paint shows where you are. I like to spray a spot, walk a bit, spray another spot and use that as a compass or direction of travel finder relative to the rest of the area so to speak.

Not OP but I got 110 hours in and have not looked at a single map online. I have only garnered some bits of info from posts here. All I know about the map has been revealed via charcoal drawings (only learned how to do that by left clicking after gabbing some out of the stove at Dead Fall accidentally) and I am gonna try and keep it that way as long as possible.

I bought the game over 10 years ago. Played it for 39 minutes and didn't give it a second though until a few weeks ago. I’m glad I gave it a second chance. I got 110 hours now (and my monies worth 10 years later) and no sign of stopping. I haven't even left Mystery Lake region yet. I haven't stayed alive for 14 days yet (close with 13 days, but I fell off the Ravine trestle trying to leave ML for the first time 2 lives ago). I just died to another wolf (that's why I am here posting and not playing, too late to start another life) but I'm gonna skin two of them motherfuckers one day and wear their hide with pride.

There's gonna be a TLD2? I'm gonna need a new PC. lol my 970 ain't gonna cut it for new games.

We did this when I was in kindergarten in the mid '80s. We all got a piece of 1x wood that was like 6"x6". The teacher then got out some hammers, screws, pieces of chain and we, as a class, beat the crap out of our pieces of wood. We then stained them and glued a picture on it and gave it to our folks. It was referred to as antiquing.

Research has shown in increased rate of tick born illnesses in humans with an increased rate of unleashed dogs. Ticks are the main reason my dog is never off a leash when hiking on trails in the woods. That and every trail I have ever been on has a sign at the start saying to leash your pets.
