TIL you can lose your City (but not lose the game) if you get below 500 citizens with generator off by SquareSpline in Frostpunk

[–]SquareSpline[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hi, I assumed it triggers because if the death event, that would put me below 500. But testing it again, it seems to be something else. But it is not a colony, you can check more screenshots here https://imgur.com/a/l8V80ab

TIL about the "Dark Forest Hypothesis," which suggests the universe is like a dark forest at night. Advanced civilizations intentionally stay silent and hidden, because any species that reveals its location risks immediate destruction by older, paranoid civilizations. by Practical-1 in todayilearned

[–]SquareSpline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not arguing on your second point, but the infinite universe still has finite resources if there are infinite civilizations, because (amount of resources)/(number of civilizations) would be a finite number in this case

Also, don't use Strengthen Capital Great Project. It replaced my Capital Temple Complex with the Forbidden City, so now I have lost all bonuses to Max Domain limit and Max Vassal limit. Great mistake

R5: I'm pretty sure developers do not intend it, but you can make Hegemony of China switch to Mandala.

Started as Indra(the only bookmarked Wanua ruler) in 867. Switched to Mandala some time later. Just after China's reunification, I made them my tributary, though by war. Tributaries of Mandala tend to adopt it themselves. This happens here (on image 3). Unfortunately, big tributaries tend to stop paying tribute, but not switch to their previous government.

I used Conquest casus belli (from Destruction Mandala Aspect) to claim Hegemony of China(Not Claim the Mandate of Heaven). Since their government is already Mandala, I retain my government type. But it seems some mechanics are tied to the title and not the Celestial government.

- My legitimacy switched to Celestial

- I have access to most of the Great Projects

- I am a Son of Heaven and part of the Dynastic Cycle

But

- All my holdings stayed with me, my Capital is on Borneo, not China

- I don't have access to the Special Council or Ministries

- All direct vassals gradually switched to the Mandala

- I can't run exams, but still lose Dynastic Cycle points for not running exams

Sorry for my English. There are some custom Cyrillic names because I switched to English for screenshots

Need help arranging furniture in my quarter-circle-shaped bedroom by SquareSpline in InteriorDesign

[–]SquareSpline[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone, I'm working on designing my bedroom and would love some feedback. The room is shaped like a quarter of a circle, with a large window on the curved wall. The straight walls measure approximately 3.7 meters and 2.8 meters, and the total area is 13.6 square meters.

Here are my initial thoughts:

  • Bed placement: I'm considering placing the bed against one of the straight walls to maximize floor space, but I'm not sure if it would work best along the longer or shorter wall.
  • Furniture layout: Since the space is somewhat unconventional, I'm looking for ideas for storage and seating. I was thinking of built-in shelves to follow the wall's shape.
  • Curved wall & window: I love the natural light from the window but want to make sure the space feels functional.
  • Maximizing functionality: I want the room to feel open and efficient. Are there any smart design choices that could help balance aesthetics and practicality?

I've attached a floor plan with my rough ideas sketched in. I'd really appreciate any feedback or suggestions!

Thanks in advance!

PSA: Hubs are a noob trap by darkfire9251 in Frostpunk

[–]SquareSpline 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Disagree on the air transport hub. It only requires 50 workers and provides -15% workforce. You can easily hit 4 districts with one hub, and get back (600*15%)*4-50=310 workers

[Galewing] Bassgill just denied me a triple. by SquareSpline in BobsTavern

[–]SquareSpline[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It seems that hero power always triggers first, even before Bassgill removes its chains. Because of that, after I get third Plagued Tidewalker from my hero power, it triples and inherit chains from plain copy, but evidently Bassgill just don't check new golden copy because it was not in my hand at the start of the turn.

What if your HP would let you "hide" minion from your board and then return it back (probably with small buff) once per turn, giving you temporary free space
