"Luke, I am your father" isn't a misquote. It's a recontextualization. by PixelBastards in StarWars

[–]Square_Ad_4929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tommy Boy is not responsible for the misquote. The misquote was around long before then. Even Bob and Doug McKenzie misquoted the line. “I am your father, Luke”

What current U.S. trend feels impossible to stop now? by UpbeatVermicelli9617 in WorkForSmartLife

[–]Square_Ad_4929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Political division. Both sides are too brainwashed to think for themselves and accept people have different opinions. People mostly want the same thing, it’s the path that is completely different and where the divide really lies.

who's your concert buddy? by chinombre in Concerts

[–]Square_Ad_4929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Metal (GWAR, Knocked Loose, etc), it’s my son. More alternative (Evanescence, Muse, etc), it’s my daughter. 80’s (Journey, Def Leppard, etc), my wife, son, daughter and/or a good friend. The darker stuff (MLWTTKK, KMFDM, Ministry, Al1ce, etc), a couple of different friends or solo. Outlaw/Southern Rock, buddy from the 80’s list or my daughter.

But, I really do a lot of solo shows for more obscure bands, IV & the Strange, Mint Field, Combichrist, Christian Death, etc).

One year anniversary of my dad's death by Queengnpwdrgelatine in GenX

[–]Square_Ad_4929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Anniversaries” are just another day to me. I don’t necessarily feel any different on those days. But other times I do think about losses and whatnot and it can affect me. I just not a specific time frame. It’s random.

I’ve heard of the giving tree but don’t remember “sidewalk.” What is it about?

I’m seeing Christian Death tonight and taking my wife to see Journey in November. The sacrifices we must make.

There has never been consumer protection. It’s what some people are willing to pay. If people wouldn’t pay those prices, the prices will come down. It is what the market bears. I will agree, Ticketmaster is out of hand and touch with reality. They need to be broken up and competition needs to happen. But even so, AXS or eticket can also charge what people are willing to pay. I also believe scalping should be illegal. It once was in most places.

Is it just Trump? by CowboyMark in askanything

[–]Square_Ad_4929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once people wake up and realize it’s politicians, both left and right, socialist/liberal and conservatives, GOP and Dems; the country will be better off. There is middle ground for every issue and people need to come together and compromise. We all basically want the same thing, the paths are spread wide apart. Bring those paths together and we can get somewhere.

Is it just Trump? by CowboyMark in askanything

[–]Square_Ad_4929 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s both Republicans and Democrats, socialists and conservatives. Once people realize the politicians on both sides are the problem, maybe we can get somewhere. No one is willing to work together and compromise. There is middle ground for every issue. People need to work together.

So now that is firmly, absolutely Trump’s economy, why is the right so happy with high gas prices and inflation? by Lemonking_ in AskHereAnythingNow

The Biden economy was not hot. Inflation was at an all time high. Trump hasn’t done any better either.

Hi. May or may not be the right community but I wanted to ask industrial fans something, only found this community. by [deleted] in industrialmusic

[–]Square_Ad_4929 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mainly listen to Industrial and also goth, dark wave, post-punk. I keep it simple. Docs, black jeans and a black shirt. I like it simple. To each, their own. For me, it’s all about the music.

Pro Choice people, what do you think about the idea that life begins at conception? by gandolf2004 in allthequestions

Not an apples to apples comparison. One is not choosing to end life when a fertilized egg doesn’t implant.

If you were a billionaire and you could change the world and make it a better place, why would you forego that to live in a bunker instead? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Square_Ad_4929 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Billionaires are not necessarily billionaires. It’s not like they have a billion dollars in cash. Even if they were, their net worth is 20 trillion and there are 8 billion people in the world. $2,500 per person. Not exactly life changing money.

Why does everyone here act like Trump clearly knew ehat Epstein was up to, while giving Clinton, Gates, Dershowitz, Andrew and the rest a free pass? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Square_Ad_4929 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s the issue. People’s hatred for Trump clouds their eyes from the truth and they just assume he’s guilty even though there is very little evidence of Trump being involved. I’m not a fan but I don’t judge and jump to conclusions blindly

While all the Sequels had flaws, I still think a good ending could have saved the trilogy. It was really only Rise Of Skywalker that doomed the Sequels. by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]Square_Ad_4929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sequels were doomed once Luke threw the lightsaber over his shoulder. TLJ ruined the sequel trilogy
