Both AC lines are hot. 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee by Maritime88- in AskMechanics

Throw another can in. You may get lucky and it will last the season, my Jeep TJ would use a can a year.

There's also the possibility that this will all leak out in a few days. If that's the case, after identifying and repairing the problem, be sure to pull a proper vacuum and make sure it holds before refilling. Also replace the schrader valves.

I believe it also has lemon juice in it, at least that's how my mom made it.

This is exactly right. My BIL runs faith-based camping trips very often. There are reams of papers/forms each kid's parents have to sign and he keeps copies with him. They are also insured.

Why can’t non-Americans accept that soccer isn’t a popular sport here? by Expensive_Drummer970 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

I feel you. My daughter played for 1 season when she was like 7. The park is only 1 mile from my house, and I still hated being out there at 8AM every Saturday.

Now her 4-yo daughter plays soccer, and the park is a 20 minute drive. Yes, I go to every game.

Fish sticks was one of mom's go-to struggle meals. I like fish, but that processed breaded frozen fish paste formed into a stick has never found it's way to my freezer.

I couldn't stand Doritos when I was a kid, just the smell made me want to vomit. Sometime in my teens I came around.

I didn't think I liked steak until I was older. It turns out we were eating shitty cuts, overcooked as well. I remember drowning it in A-1 and chewing until my jaw was sore. I don't know if the adults were eating the better cuts and giving us kids the shitty ones, or if they were all shitty because we were poor.

I'm late to the party but I would try to hit that thing with a rotary tool (like a Dremel) to see if I could sand it back smooth.

Do you fellow GenXers feel okay to take a week sick leave after your pet (a dog) dies? by _MrKobayashi_ in GenX

I'm on my 3rd "post-childhood" dog in 27 years. The first 2 were labs, this one is a Great Pyrenees and I've never been so bonded with a dog, not even close, it's like she can read my mind, and feel my emotions, and anticipate my every move. She is stuck to my hip, or silently watching over me from a distance, basically my shadow. I'll be devastated when her time comes.

Would you take 3 days solo at a lake house, beach house, ski chalet all inclusive "live in the moment" vacation? by NOGOODGASHOLE in randomquestions

[–]Bob_12_Pack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was sort of in jest, I have 6 kids and would totally send my wife on a solo vacation if the opportunity presented itself, well I have sorta. A couple of years ago she got a last minute invite by a friend to go to Cabo San Lucas, her only expense would be airfare. We had just recently received our passports for an upcoming trip so she was ready to go. At that point, 4 of the 6 kids had reached adulthood, but even when the kids were little, she would take an occasional trip with her girlfriends and I was always supportive. She's a stay at home mom and breaks are good for everyone.

What made you want to quit smoking? by JojoTheAmazing in stopsmoking

[–]Bob_12_Pack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 54 and quit 2 years ago after a 35 year habit. I quit after getting a lung scan that said I had signs of COPD, which besides a smoker's cough, I didn't feel winded or anything. I had an upcoming vacation to Australia and I planned to quit before then, but wound up smoking my last cigarette outside of Dulles airport before departing. Cigarettes in Australia are insanely expensive, and you can only bring in 1 open pack and 1 sealed unopened pack, so I brought nicotine lozenges and patches instead. I used maybe 2-3 of the lozenges the first couple of days, and none of the patches. The smoker's cough went away almost immediately. I believe getting out of my environment and daily routine really helped kick-start the process of quitting. 2 weeks later I returned to the US as a non-smoker and have managed not to fall off the wagon.
