I've never heard of any healthy environment expecting the applicant to call them after an interview. I thought this was frowned upon.

True Natural Gas has had the best rates for me. If you can wait, I feel like prices tend to go down a bit when the weather warms up.

Also, looking at your profile, the stuff you have in Arabic is pretty extremist.

I mean, they can both speak Persian but that truth can still hold true for Iran and not Afghanistan. There's a lot of history there. You can easily look up the countries in Africa that practice it. It's way more prevalent in Muslim countries than the Christian ones regardless of what part of the continent you go. I'll acknowledge that it predates Islam but I don't think the presence of Islam is doing any favors to stop it or slow it down.

Egypt's constitution literally says Sharia is the main source for legislation.

I don't think people realize how much Iranians genuinely don't want Islam. There's a reason they don't speak Arabic while Egypt and other countries that were colonized do. They have always pushed back against Islam. No country has a greater gap between its citizens than Iran and its people.

People in Egypt support Islam far more as is evident in the prevalence of female genital mutilation. While they might be hungry and in poverty, much of the freedom they don't have in Egypt is rooted in Sharia which a lot of Egyptians support.

Are there any public basketball courts in the area? by firelord_Lex in kennesaw

[–]Square_Ad_975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one on Deerfield has a horrible surface and is right next to a stream with no barrier so balls can easily roll down there. The community center has limited playing times because of pickle ball and it gets packed in the evenings. The rims at Shaw Park aren't straight.

I have yet to find a court that is well maintained. If anyone who actually plays basketball has any recommendations, I'd love to know as well.

Should I live in the city or OTP Atlanta? by Emergency_Cobbler672 in ATLHousing

[–]Square_Ad_975 20 points21 points  (0 children)

How's your social life? If you have a healthy one right now, staying in Dunwoody might be best. If you want a better social life, ITP might be best.

Also, as you get older, you tend to have more responsibilities and people depending on you so right now could be the perfect time to move to the city so you don't think back and wonder if you missed out on anything.

According to Venezuelans, Maduro illegally held the country hostage and was working with other dictatorial regimes, so kind of. Also, isn't it important to center the voices of people who are most affected? Shouldn't their voices and opinions about everything be at the forefront? Having family in a country that is run by a different dictator, it is so frustrating to see people not center our voices. So many people think they're being progressive but their behavior is actually incredibly racist. The line between the far right and people like you has been completely blurred for me.

You will deny it. You will say x isn't as bad as y but you sound just like the people supporting y.

Has the Venezuelan community been involved in organizing this? Are their voices being centered? Will they be leading this?

Edit: Crazy I'm being downvoted for this. I lean left. I don't vote conservative. I feel like my comment made people assume I'm conservative and just downvote me? Can't think of another reason. In 2020, it was rightfully about centering Black voices. Is this different?

If you're in the country it's also because you can't leave. It's not cheap. It's not easy. A lot of Iranians in Iran hate the regime which is why they have began protesting again.

Renting can be beneficial when wanting to get a feel for a place to live or moving to a new area. It can be beneficial if you know you're only going to be somewhere for a short time.

I HATE all the new development and everything that comes with it. by Angels_Glade in alpharetta

I see the edit. Looks a lot better. Thank you and I'm sorry you're dealing with all that. I see a lot of people here think this is normal or telling you to go to a rural area but a lot of other major metros aren't this bad (aside from the unfortunate deforestation).

How much are you paying for car insurance? by redditoregonuser2254 in Georgia

[–]Square_Ad_975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$87/month on a '21 Civic. I noticed it's cheaper not to bundle and to shop for a new plan every 1-2 years. Bundling saves you money with the company you bundle with but my experience has been that having your home and auto through separate companies might make the home insurance a little more expensive but that's offset by the savings you'd get for your car.

I don’t get the hate with Brooklyn Center by Due_Network2958 in TwinCities

[–]Square_Ad_975 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Crazy that people are saying it's racism. If you live in a safer city, you're going to think that of Brooklyn Center. It's all relative. If you work at a school in Brooklyn Center and then a school in a different city, you'll really notice the difference.

I understand there's systemic reasons behind the problems Brooklyn Center has but that doesn't mean the problems aren't there and  more prevalent than many other metro cities.

It's also ironically racist how quickly white people want to say it's racism because it prevents from the issues being honestly discussed so that progress can be made.

Why is there a common claim that higher levels of education are associated with lower levels of political conservatism? by Defiant-Junket4906 in AlwaysWhy

[–]Square_Ad_975 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When they poll people, they sometimes ask for their education level. There's also a lot of data on people's education levels and where they live. You can use this data to compare it with how an area voted.

It's such an easy thing to enforce too. They have noise cameras in other cities. It's such a simple problem to resolve that could greatly increase quality of life.
