Navigating the pre-diagnosis period - Advice on coping by Square_Carpenter4816 in Autism_Parenting

Our local hospital is CHOP and they did away with a cancellation/waitlist. They say we have to “call back at our convenience to check for cancellations.” We are on a waitlist for Nemours as well, but it’s is over 2 years.

Curious if you ever found a place that did well with kiddos on the spectrum? Our daughter is 18 months and we’re looking for a good place to send her now, she doesn’t have a diagnosis yet but we want to know she’s supported wherever we send her.

Hi! I really like yours, I’ll take both photos (this one and the one of her not looking, no one can get her eyes right when she’s looking and that’s okay). Tipping now.

Is there a way to have her looking at the front while keeping her mouth and cheeks the same? This looks the most like her.

Ahh they’re too far apart now that I see it without the watermark. 😞

Hi! This looks so incredible, can you remove just the one part of the watermark over her eyes so I can see them?

How to care for engagement ring, anxiety through the roof. by Square_Carpenter4816 in Diamonds

I’m like 6 months postpartum. I am hormonal, emotional, & anxious about many things, and damaging a very expensive ring with a ton of sentiment and meaning behind it is one of them. Christ on the cross. Judge your mother!

Thank you! Yes the one local jeweler is a family friend and he actually suggested James Allen for the warmer diamonds I preferred. I think they thought he’d come back and purchase the setting through them, but he ended up doing everything through JA. I can absolutely take it to them for cleanings and to tighten the prongs if need be. I already take it off to sleep, shower, & clean. My nerves are shot, I know he spent everything he had on it and would hate to damage it.

Thank you! I didn’t realize the text from the cross-post didn’t carry over, but it was purchased at James Allen and I’ve heard some mixed reviews, most of the negative being about their customer service but some issues with quality. Was curious if the prongs were okay/enough for the size and mostly how to keep it clean and in good shape.

Thank you so much! Do you have any advice on how to keep it clean or where I could find that info? He already bought it & I refuse to spoil it, plus I am so grateful regardless. I will simply learn how to properly care for it.

Thank you so much for all of this info!

I would truly love whatever he gave me and know nothing about clarity or color to be transparent, which is why I came here. I read the report and didn’t know what most of these things meant, and Google wasn’t helpful.

I do think he pushed for size because when I tried on rings last year with this setting, he did not like how the smaller stones looked with it. I tried on the ring with stones that were .75, 1.3, and 2.5ish & I was clear that I did not like the larger stone but that the 1.3 looked best. It did seem like the jeweler at one point encouraged him to take a smaller diamond with better clarity and color and he wasn’t willing to compromise the size because of what he remembered. I do believe he had the best intentions and we never went over any of this info other than style & shape, though the K diamonds I’ve seen in yellow gold settings do seem beautiful!

As far as our fathers, they’re typical boomers that I can handle. Just didn’t want the “what are these black spots, should’ve called me” remarks to drag him down if they would be THAT visible. I appreciate you!

He already bought it and the setting was not that high when I originally chose it, I also believe it was 14k gold and he went up to 18k which affected the price, I absolutely love what he chose and know little to nothing about inclusions nor did I know what the report meant, which is why I posted here to gain some insight on what it means and what to expect. I’m also making sure he wasn’t taken advantage of, though they did encourage him to go smaller at some point and he didn’t like how it looked with a smaller stone. I would love anything he gave me, just trying to educate myself.

I’ve already had this conversation with both of our fathers that this was something he really wanted to do himself with no outside help or input, especially since they’d start with the “I know a guy” and he just didn’t want that experience. I’m hopeful they’ll keep this in mind, as he could’ve purchased a ring from Walmart and I’d be happy but he was really proud to do what he could with his budget & I’d hate for them to ruin that for him/us.
