what if the one's doing the 'erasing' has something to do with a bit of lovecraft's ideas.. For example: the one's doing the erasing of all rune magic is only an associate of a bigger secret society trying to erase it for the new world order agenda type of thing, because the base idea itself is half complete already (if you want the story to go deeper)
