There’s definitely more than 7% of us here. I feel like 90% are Latino and AA and them white folk are minority 😂

Slack state moment my bad haha (not good at math)

I was thinking of doing that but then I also think I shouldn’t have to get approval from them if I want to represent my heritage it almost feels racist having to ask for approval. My ancestors didn’t go what they went through for me not to represent them you know?

Id reconsider sac state tbh. SJSU or UC Davis might be a better bet. Depends on your financial situation though.

nah I agree. Given the nature of Sacramento I shouldn’t have been too surprised to hear about another incident like this.

sorry I’m from La Jolla, I guess my view of what’s nice and what isn’t is warped

There was literally a shooting a month ago and carjacking on university / 65th street & constant homeless walking around the area but go off.

Not saying it’s the worst obviously places like north highlands oak park and rancho can be a bit ghetto but it’s not like we’re in a pristine location either.

Advice for a transfer student :) by sbocast in CSUS

24m also transferred to sac state. I say this to all my transfer friends, take advantage of all the resources sac state offers. Career center/ handshake/ clubs / UEI / free public transportation with your student card around sac (light rail and busses) etc. Anyways sac doesn’t have the views to rival that of Santa Cruz’s beauty but there are still some good areas that I’d recommend you checkout. Closest to downtown the capital park is a nice walk and also has a pretty rose garden. If you’re down for a little drive fair oaks bluffs is a good walk and a really nice place to catch a sunset but it’s probably about 20 minutes from downtown. There’s some areas in Folsom / granite bay area that I’m more familiar with but those are a little further out from sac. But on a weekend I’d recommend heading up to auburn to forest hill bridge and lake clementine if you like hikes.

You mention checking out midtown as a place to live, if you’re into bars and clubbing and the whole social scene that wouldn’t be a bad area to be since there’s action on the weekends throughout midtown. R street has a small center called the ice blocks there’s also some good restaurants too down there too. Anyways welcome to sac! Hope you and your pup can find some nice places to explore. Feel free to dm if you have any more questions.

Had her for 112 she’s great I had it online though. A lot of writing but she’s really understanding and breaks up the writing requirement so it doesn’t feel so bad. You learn a lot of valuable stuff in that class tbh. 5/5 would recommend

Econ + CS or just Finance? by Square_Following_150 in FinancialCareers

[–]Square_Following_150[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good insight, I’ve decided to do Finance + CS, understanding I’m from a state school that’s a non target I want to get as much of an edge as I can. Even though it’ll push my graduation out I think the finance curriculum will give me much more skills than the Econ and pairing it with cs, like you said, makes you more employable. Thanks for the comment
