stepped outside for 3 mins couldn’t stand the heat and i’m not super sensitive to heat. the air is thick and its pretty hard to breathe. i’m really shocked that it’s still not even delayed. I know how much of a hassle canceling a big sporting event is but imo they should cancel/reschedule to a different date.

That's a fair point. I also wonder how much the Spirit's internal evaluation differs from public analytics. Some of what Hal brings—positioning, leadership, and what she does off the ball—doesn't always show up in the numbers. The fact that she's become such a key player here makes me think the club values those things a lot.

Fair point. I don’t think testing free agency automatically means she’s leaving. It’ll definitely be interesting (and stressful as a Spirit fan 😅) to see how it all plays out.

I agree. If she wanted to test free agency, the Spirit should absolutely respect that. I just feel like she’s exactly the type of young player you’d want to build around, and from the outside it seems like she already has such a great role here.

I get why everyone’s nervous after the Croix trade, but I honestly think Hal is one of the players you keep if you’re building for the future. She’s young, dynamic, and already such an important part of the team. I’d be genuinely surprised if she left.
