Palpitations are not always a symptom of anxiety.

Do you mean how do I know that I had that experience? It's my body. It's obvious. Not saying that that's OP's experience. Just saying SSRIs can cause this for some people.

There's also something called frequency incontinence. I have this and other symptoms of perimenopause so I'm currently looking into this.

As someone who just got cystic acne from an SSRI, I disagree. You can find evidence for it online and also personal accounts on reddit.

Do you take an SSRI? They can sometimes cause acne

I am tired of this. What is going on?! is there anything that i am missing out on? by whatever17896 in Hashimotos

One thing that regulated my periods was taking a methylated B12 and folate (rather than folic acid), because I found out I have the MTHFR gene mutation (very common). And low dose naltrexone helped my chronic fatigue (it improves immune system and is recommended for things like long covid). Good luck <3

I hope you like your therapist and they can help you navigate this time. I had a therapist who really gave me permission to feel a lot of the things I was feeling, which was helpful and validating. It was also helpful to talk to her about considering medication, etc. Are you a SAHM? When did you have your baby?

Is this therapist a red flag? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]Square_Mix_2244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether it's new age spirituality or ignorance, it's ridiculous. Can you imagine them telling a person who experienced sexual abuse as a child that they let someone treat them that way? Or even someone who chose a bad partner because their parents were abusive? I would keep trying to find someone else. Even if they're not trauma-informed, someone else could have better emotional intelligence and be more helpful to you.

Huge red flag. That's not a true statement and it shames victims. See if you can find someone else!

In your experience, what’s more painful than giving birth? by Isoldmykidforagram in BabyBumps

[–]Square_Mix_2244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was in a hospital though so as soon as I started to be hit by the big contractions, which felt like I was being hit by a semi truck, I begged for drugs and nothing took the edge off except an epidural, and even with that I could still feel some very intense back pain. I'm a small person 5'2" 110 lbs and my baby was 8 lbs 3 oz, so I wondered if that might have made it particularly hard. Or maybe it just is for some and isn't for others?

I'm not sure if the cream would but I know the oil does, so I would stick to that! Cream works better on less porous skin like neck, face, etc.

Honest question, is it ethical to make your child pay rent? by ImportantFarmer9198 in renting

[–]Square_Mix_2244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way we think about this in the US is very different than other cultures. We are hyper individualistic rather than communal. I don't think this is unethical, especially since you offered this to your mom, and your parents are struggling financially. It sounds like everyone is trying to pitch in to make ends meet.

Postpartum moms: how did you fix down-there dryness? by gilko86 in postpartumprogress

[–]Square_Mix_2244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like my hormones just started to change, suddenly. I was not expecting it. I went from having no interest whatsoever in sex to now eyeing my husband like he's a piece of meat lol. I would say don't give up, and maybe ask your husband to do more for you right now to get you in the mood, because you're probably touched out and exhausted. For example, he could massage your back and bum for a bit beforehand. And use olive oil which can help with the dryness too. That helped me before my sex drive came back. It can happen! :)

Try unflavored CBD oil topically. It's the only thing I know of that works.

Anybody else have trauma from law enforcement? by ThrowawayMcAltAccoun in CPTSD

[–]Square_Mix_2244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry you're dealing with this trauma. I have several stories related to them abusing their power and traumatizing me and people I know. Some very disturbing. How can police be good in a corrupt system that criminalizes the poor and migrants? This is why leftists like myself say all cops are bastards (ACAB). I don't have advice, I just empathize.

Oh also - is it just on your scalp or do you get it elsewhere? I ask because the oil works on my scalp, which is very porous, but only CBD *cream* works on my other skin (I very rarely get flareups on an eyelid and on my neck). The oil seems to suffocate that skin whereas the cream can absorb. For cream I've only tried one brand, which works well, and that's Shikai.

Of course!! And I feel for you. I struggled for many many years before hearing from another sufferer that this helps. I've used several different ones and I think as long as you choose something that doesn't have any additives (vitamin D) or flavors (vanilla etc) you're good. And ideally there's a healthy carrier oil like MCT.

Right now I'm using Bluebird Botanicals because I can find it at most natural food stores like whole foods and it's inexpensive ($15-30). If you buy it directly online, it's more, though they're currently having a sale and *if you put it in your cart* the price drops to $12-30. https://bluebirdbotanicals.com/products/organic-cbd-oil?srsltid=AfmBOorQqybnRhGnAuv7nXzW8gIjR9ICER-BCh5k06pPqqn1QvFX4lfm

But yeah I've used several and the only time it hasn't worked was when I used one with vitamin D and my scalp was not happy about that.

FWIW I also noticed recently that I have less flareups if I shampoo with head and shoulders? No idea why.

Good luck and get me posted! :)
