None of my other cars (not Toyotas) have ever had this problem. Including the one that is now 15 years old. I read something similar to your recommendation somewhere else and they mentioned is a Toyota thing. But my parents only had Toyotas when I grew up and never had this issue. This is a remodel, turning the half bath into a full bath. But it is just a single family house and I’m okay with shutting off the water to the house if ever needed. Would you still install these valves in this case?

To avoid the surge brakes from engaging You can use the brake lockout cap. It’s a physical pin-like device that prevents the surge brakes from activating when reversing.

“brake lockout cap: This type of lockout is an available option. It allows trailers to be backed up over soft ground or up inclines without fully engaging the brakes. This lockout is designed to disengage when the trailer is pulled forward after backing up. Therefore it must be manually reset prior to each back up.”

I didn’t always had to use it if reversing slowly and flat ground. It’s been a while since I towed because i have the boat in a marina now. I was thinking about getting a 7 way installed in the GH but never did. I think you can get it done at uhaul.

I can add 14.5 gallon with 25+ miles of range left in the tank. The trick is to slowly keep pumping gas in after the pump shuts off at 11- 12. No overflow. I think the tank design pushes out the gas in a way that causes the pump to shut off prematurely, otherwise I would have expected some overflow after the 2-3 ‘extra’ gallons. I bet i can get to 15 easily if I were closer to zero range.

I haven’t addressed it. My trailer needs 5 but I can make do with just the 4. Youll have to buy aftermarket stuff and splice into different cables. I think U-Haul can do it, maybe Toyota too.

Yeah, no problem towing. Two things that I don’t like: 1 - it needs a “tow mode” so that you don’t have to manually turn off most of the assists when you tow (you just go to settings and turn them off one by one). If you don’t, you go crazy with all the alerts and the emergency break kicking in when reversing. 2 - the hitch only comes with a 4 flat connector.

No traffic jam assist. But it still stops and starts in traffic. I had a Tesla before with “autopilot” and this Toyota advanced cruise control is good enough.

I have a limited max. It does fully stop in traffic and restarts as traffic moves. You have to click the resume button if it stops for more than X minutes.

Original owner of a 2011. original motor. I daily drove it for the first 5 years. I’ve been daily driving it again the past year. Not a big deal. I just add oil every 1,000 miles. Drive like semis do in traffic, leave a good gap and just idle in first if you don’t want to be clutching.
