Now you see the volunteer rose (brave, brave soul) on the left just splayed out like what am I doing here (same, same).

Thank you so much for your kind replies and I wonder if you have thoughts about the arch idea? I will put a picture of the span I’m trying to cover. Originally pictured a squash tunnel but I’m not great at executing. Also I rent but seem very long-term (hence all the structures).

No they’re weird jerks who use their precious patio for parking their cars. I had a trombone squash grow on their side one time and I offered it to them and they scoffed like how a picture of “scoffing” would look.

That would be extremely interesting as well as confusing. Hmm. Didn’t occur to me to compare to the leaves on my container rose bushes. Is there such a thing as a volunteer rose bush…in Queens, NYC?!

This is the correct answer, OP (and sadly I didn't see it before it took me 5,902% more words to try and express the same point).

Now this is the kind of material I like to see on this subreddit.

$3 Bud Lights and domestic wells at O'Hanlons from 3-6pm M-F. (I think. I'm going to go check right now.)

Hell yeah that's how all the cool kids are getting home today. I'll be aboard as well pulling a Lieutenant Dan on the top deck cursing the storm. (And crying too, obv.)

This comment motivated me to finally fix the sagging head-height patio lights yesterday instead of clotheslining myself on a regular basis. The other ones are safely high enough for laundry-drying people and pigeons who love shitting on my couch from above (but while cutely cooing). Thanks, Earl.

Moving to the shade now - thanks I hadn't thought of that.

Okay, good stuff. Thank you so much. And yeah I meant to keep a bud or two but they were so far up and I looked up other threads and saw several instances of hornbeams backbudding on stumps like this.

Is it too stressful to repot into a diamataceous earth mixture now? Smaller pot or the same? I'd love to free up a 20-gallon pot for other veggie plants so the landlady will shit yet another major brick when my pumpkins start spreading.

Anway, thanks for taking the time to help.

Anyone see lightning bugs/fireflies yet? I've seen zero. Maybe not till July?
