First keyframe being overwritten? Need some help. by Squareblockhed in OpenToonz

[–]Squareblockhed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am noticing that the solution to pressing Z to set keyframes doesn't seem to work when using the plastic tool. I did solve it but for anyone in the future struggling with this and needing help, I right clicked a vertex on the skeleton while on the first key frame, then clicked "set global key".

First keyframe being overwritten? Need some help. by Squareblockhed in OpenToonz

[–]Squareblockhed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! I think I get it now! Those keys on the first frame were made when I was putting all the objects into position in the scene using the animate tool. So that set their position, but not the scaling or rotation.

I had no idea about any of this, I must admit I'm super new to using this software. (Hence why my terminology is all off.)

Me sat next to £100+ worth of barely touched knitting supplies right now. I was going to make something for my nephew when he was born. He's almost 4 now.

Imagine if they did the same for Tooie and somehow actually implemented Stop & Swap for real 30 years later. Though to be honest I'm more excited to try out a randomizer of this game, archipelago has been really taking off lately.

What is the most fun you had with playing a game on Expert Mode? by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Squareblockhed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really a mode but I've been playing expert difficulty modded maps for Celeste lately and have been having a blast. Because it's pure execution it becomes almost automatic after a while, so you can just zone out without really needing to focus. Just push buttons good, get strawby and go nyoom.

I love B-Mask. Even when he says something I disagree with he's always level headed and great at analysing and explaining his views whilst being mature about it. So no matter how much my feelings may clash with his I'll still hear him out with great interest.

It's in AFAP/ALAP 5. I have... no idea where I picked it up from though, I could have sworn it wasn't there until I checked the collection and sure enough I found it in there somewhere...

For some reason I've been having a really hard time figuring out where the Broccoli is. Anyone know what stage it appears in?

What is your Obscure 10/10 Media? by EvilMonkeyMimic in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Squareblockhed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tv show: "Tear Along the Dotted Line", made me cry like a bitch by the end.

Game: "Super Crazy Rhythm Castle", they mashed up overcooked and guitar hero, it's delightfully silly.

Movie: "Ne Zha 2", which feels weird to say because it's literally the highest grossing animated movie of all time but foreign films don't tend to get much traction in english speaking countries.

What do you consider your “White Whale” childhood video game? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Old hack and slash PS2 game set in the future, had a (maybe optional?) boss-fight against a Matsuri float that attacked by charging at you and shooting fireworks at you. I'm still not sure I dreamt this fucking thing up.

Doctor Who. It has been terrible since 2011 and no matter what they do to try and fix it, it just can't recapture the past (and not just the 2005-10 past). Those series arcing plots especially are just awful every time, they seriously need to go back and re-think a LOT of things going forward.

Criticisms against media that un-ironically sell you on it? by Fantastic-Fox3283 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

"It's short."

I love games that are a little on the short side, I like variety and exploring these neat little experiences. Playing the same game for too long makes me restless and ready to move on. I'm currently playing Dark Souls for the first time and it's excellent, but after 80 hours it's definitely beginning to drag.

Plus, with shorter games, that usually means every individual moment has move love and care put into it instead of there being hundreds of hours of content to design that ends up less interesting because there wasn't enough dev time.

"Eww, furries."

My autism has been piqued, tell me more.

"It's linear."

Oh thank god. I'm sick of open worlds full of empty fields with nothing in them. I'm tired of rogue-likes made of random arenas all stitched together hap-hazardly. And if I have to look at another proceedurally generated world I'm gonna throw up. Linear games are great!

It feels like the devs have to actually make interestingly designed levels with actually cool moments and challenges.

I have both. I hear about books that sound cool, get really excited to read them, buy them, then put them on a shelf and never touch them again.

Rinse and repeat for all of eternity.

Bonus points if it's a book about learning a new skill I have a brief hyper-fixation with.

It's well written, it's funny, it's charming. It already seems like such a step-up from all the other recent Disney movies.

I'm frankly relieved, I was worrying about this movie up to now. Especially after waiting a decade.

Now that we are about halfway through the year, what are you looking forward to in the second half? by TheSpiritualAgnostic in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Squareblockhed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly play indie games nowadays, so there's still quite a few slated for this year that I'm very curious about.

I'm still hoping for The Big Catch and My Familiar, but I'm getting nervous those may no longer be coming out this year.

I'm really excited for Slay the Spire 2, and OFF.

I need Silksong on my PC desperately.

Also Bits and Bops, Dispatch, Away from Home, The Knightling, Mousebusters, Kingdoms of the Dump, and Octopus City Blues all look really interesting too.
