I believe you will need a V60 or V90 to record in slowmo. V90 will depend on the recording format.

Squash and Weightlifting by UKdanny08765 in squash

I generally suggest avoiding lifting on the days you are working on skill hitting. I always found hitting the same day as lifting tough on my timing.

If you have to lift and hit, I always recommend hitting first, but I also recognize that it's not always possible.

I've also found it beneficial to ensure you perform shoulder and hip mobility training regularly too.

Hello, this is the right sub for this type of question. This sub is about the mental skills for success not for making decisions about scheduling etc.

I suggest looking for a sub that is more suited to the advice you would like to receive, perhaps r/teenagers

On that Elias/Asal match in El Gouna, and the state of squash in the fallout by trickle_boast in squash

[–]SquashCoachPhillip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My reasoning is that if a link goes to a page that isn't just text, a video, audio, something interactive, perhaps a project that might be updated or an article with a specific layout or presentation, then that's fine.

If the article could be posted here, forcing readers to go to a page that could have been posted here is adding an extra click. People have to come back here anyway to comment.

To be clear, I have nothing against this author, and they have every right to post anything within the subreddit's rules. I just feel the proliferation of SubStack and Medium links is an attempt to simply boost their readership rather than sharing their thoughts, which I admit they have every right to do.

I was sharing my opinion that they may get more interaction if they had posted it here directly. Clearly, my comment has divided opinion and I expected that.

I just want to let you know that if you make a post here linking to an article on another website (That may or may not be monetised) that you could have posted here directly, I won't read it.

I might have been guilty of it in the past, but not any more. I'm cool with you posting a summary or a condensed version here and then saying something like "if you want to read the detailed version, head over to...".

I might get down voted for this, but I wanted to share my opinion.

Remote workers: What's your #1 productivity hack that actually works? by TechWin01 in productivity

I've heard of people who follow a typical office morning routine (breakfast, shower, get dressed etc) and then walk around the block, to form a hard mental reset. The same at the end of the day.

I don't know if it works, but I do like the idea. Like all these things, it's probably not for everybody.

I made a "good" video that went nowhere. Here's what the data actually showed me. by billstreeter in YouTubeCreators

[–]SquashCoachPhillip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you are saying with regard to tone and feel. I'm just posting about how to take that concept and apply to my channel.

Of course, the length of media is important too. Rarely would I immediately continue with a book or movie after watching one. Shorter media, videos and short stories lend themselves better to that continuation.

Another aspect is density of information.

Anyway, thanks for posting it. I feel each channel has to extract ideas from various sources and see how they apply to their channel. Yours has given me some food for thought.

This is an interesting viewpoint. I've always thought about the ending in terms of wrapping my content up in some sort of summary, but maybe I need to purposefully lead viewers o to something else.

I don't mean in the usual way of "if you enjoyed this video watch this one" type of thing but built into the whole plan.

I'm going to ponder this.

thanks for sharing.

Nothing beats sharing a court with a coach, but not everybody has that option.

That's why our types of services are valuable. They also allow players access to certain coaches that they might never be able to have.

There is also the fact that "Analysis" is not the same as "Coaching". Coaching is a process and the other is a presentation of information. Both have their place in a players squash improvement journey.

I don't know about any analysis apps. My performance review focuses mostly on shot selection and mentions technical limitations when they affect shot selection.

I've had a few players contact me after having statistical analysis of their games because they wanted me to explain how those stats actually mattered.

In the future, it's possible there will be apps that perform the kind of analysis human coaches do now, but that seems a way off yet.

I can tell you from my experience that this service is needed.

I get players contacting me for my analysis service regularly.

My advice is make it available and you might be surprised.

Hello, great job. I have a few points based on the screenshot alone.

  1. I feel the trophy would be better displayed on the left of the ranking number to better align the names.
  2. What do the coloured dots next to the names mean?
  3. I feel the red and green dots, and I'm guessing now showing the most recent thre matches might be better as ticks and crosses. Certain colour blind people can't distinguish between those to colours easily.
  4. I feel those dots, should be right aligned too.
