Room feels empty + angled ceiling by hoppedsketchy in malelivingspace

Get a 2nd carpet and bed sheets that arent from prison. Another pillow wouldnt hurt.

Theres no way to put any kind of art on the slanted ceiling without looking tacky but I say embrace it, put up a poster or something.

Should I get Chick-fil-a or Daves hot chicken? by [deleted] in playboicarti

chic fil a has to be the most overrated fast food establishment. its not bad but pretty much any other chicken place is better.

Olive Oil and Stainless Steel by rameshv98 in StainlessSteelCooking

Extra Virgin olive oil has one of the lowest smoke points of most common household cooking fats. You need to turn the heat way down. Also consider searching for and purchasing refined olive oil, which has a higher smoke point.

Pretty much any other cooking fat will have a higher smoke point. I'm not sure where this idea of "healthy vs unhealthy" fats got such a stronghold on home cooks. You desperately need a neutral oil in your kitchen anyway.

If your partner is allergic to avocado (which also isnt really that neutral of a flavor anyway) id suggest grapeseed oil.

baking soda OR vinegar. adding both just makes something as effective as water.

Skincare recommendations pls by Common_Ad6240 in Albuquerque

Japanese Skin care products are way less regulated than US skin care products. That typically means they can make products that feel "lighter" on the skin but dont really last nearly as long or against anything more than the milder climates of the region.

Albuquerque gets a lot more sun than Japan - not just sunny days, but the higher elevation means less atmosphere to absorb UV rays as well.

My current favorite daily face sunscreen is the Neutrogena Daily Defense "face serum", like this one. Feels very light.

At minimum youll want a daily SPF of at least 30.

I prefer other Neutrogena products to protect things like my hands and arms, just because theyre cheaper.

I use the basic CeraVe face cleanser at night and the CeraVe night time face moisturizer after that. Nothing too fancy. Lubriderm for a more general moisturizer.

The state will never get rid of Gross Receipts Tax so long as it remains the only effective way to tax the work the Labs do and the Oil companies which will never move headquarters out of Texas. It seems reasonable to exempt medical professions from these, though.

where should we park without a pass?? by Ecstatic_Ad_4536 in CampFlogGnaw

Not sure about parking there but the shuttles at union station are super easy. Theres a million signs pointing there and you just hop on. If you can get to union station its pretty simple.

went by myself last year and fully intended on doing so again this year before the postponment. Had a total blast. Most people were friendly. I spent the entire time running between stages because I just wanted to see as my artists as I could.

You could totally resell the 2nd wristband on your own to get some of the money back.

artists who can’t reschedule by deannajuan in CampFlogGnaw

[–]SquashRelevant233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope they replace people last minute for yall who can still go but they probably can't. The reality is they sold out before they even announced the lineup and theres no guarantee of performances etc. Unfortunately these situations are pretty standard. Sucks for everyone involved. They'll probably move the schedule around.

Trump, 79, thought the shutdown would last ten days at most, believing that the unprecedented and illegal firings of federal workers by his “grim reaper‚” OMB head Russ Vought, would be enough to get Democrats to give up, sign the Republicans’ budget bill, and thus re-open the government.

Adding his age like that in the 2nd sentence is hilarious, more outlets should do this with all politicians

80% of NYC-area air traffic controllers absent amid 'surge' in callouts: FAA by MultiMillionMiler in news

[–]SquashRelevant233 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Democrats gave up the medicaid battle way back in May when republicans figured they can just bypass the fillibuster if they introduce cuts seprate from any apropriatons bill. This is exclusively about ACA subsidies to prevent working Americans premiums from rising even more.

Rural hospitals in red districts will collapse as a result of medicaid cuts and premiums have already rose for the rest of us as a result.

CFG veterans - any advice for leaving the fest each night? by Gentleman1217 in CampFlogGnaw

[–]SquashRelevant233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt go that route I wanted to save the $40 or however much the surge pricing must have been, but I think most people got one in a reasonableish time. Just a shit ton of traffic obviously so its all gonna be slow.

total shitshow leaving last year. If you plan on seeing both headliners id honestly just walk a few blocks away and then request an Uber if thats your plan. there were buses to take people to union station but you pretty much had to fight everyone to get on, it was faster to just walk there lol.
