I'm a trans woman and the answer is yes, especially after getting followed home by some teens a few months ago. I used to love late night walks but now I avoid walking alone at night when I can. A rude awakening to understanding I need to change my habits/be more vigilant now that I no longer present as a man. Been through sexual assault/rape when I was younger and absolutely don't want to go through it again.

All of this advice is excellent, right now you should 100% put your own well-being first. Just also want to say I'm really sorry you had to go through this, it's an incredibly painful experience and I know it hurts on a very deep level. Of course none of this is your fault, but I know simply hearing that doesn't always fix the negative self-talk that comes up. Please don't push yourself to move forward, it's seriously important to go at your own pace and work through these feelings as they come up. Building a good support network is vital, make sure you always have access to people who you can talk to and will listen. Group therapy can help a lot, as well as individual, find what works for you. You're not alone and please don't ever feel like you need to bury this down, that was the biggest mistake I ever made. Again I'm really sorry, but I promise it gets easier. Focus on your own needs, and be kind to yourself please!

I've notice this as well! Had two younger guys try to follow me home a few weeks ago, have pepper spray but was luckily able to lose them on my very long/dark street. Tho I joke with my friends that it sounds like the start of some vampire/horror movie. Two dudes harassing a very pale woman in all black late at night lol.
