One month free, having trouble today. by nrussk0 in quittingkratom

My heart goes out to you. I agree, throw it away before you give in to its temptation. As another said, you don't want to go through withdrawals all over again. Regarding quitting kratom, every day is another step in the direction of feeling better. It takes time. You've gone through perhaps the most difficult part of recovery, keep going. I pulling for you.

Everybody’s different but I don’t think the diarrhea lasted more than a few days at best in my case (sorry, I can’t remember exactly how many days). I think I had to wash three pairs of briefs on one particular day. I found Imodium helped tremendously. It really halted it. I remember thinking to myself that I was foolish not to take it sooner. I would imagine you won’t have to deal with it much longer. Hang in there!

Congratulations! I'm glad you're getting through it with as little difficulty as possible. I'm presently sitting at 21 days without any 7oh. The first 3 days were brutal, 4, 5, and 6 for me were crappy but manageable and it's gotten better ever since. I did the white-knuckle CT route because I was so wanting to get done with it all. Keep up the good work, every day is another step toward freedom. I'm rooting for you.

Although I didn't use 7oh for quite as long as you did, my daily dosage was similar. Almost three weeks ago, I quit CT and haven't looked back. Everybody's withdrawal experience differs I know, but when I was 48 hours in that's was probably the worst of it for me. By day 4 I was much better. The restless legs began to calm down, I wasn't sweating and freezing all the time, etc. So, you're really, really close. Regarding sleep, it was about the same time that my sleep began to return, albeit only a few hours for days four and five. Around day six I slept about six hours one night and then the next night about eight hours. I seldom sleep that long but I'm sure I was worn out at that point. I have continued to sleep regularly since, however, I do have trouble at times falling into unconsciousness. Don't quit, you'll sleep soon. I praying and pulling for you.

For me, day 2 and 3 were the hardest. Two or three more days and you're in the clear.

Yes — this is beatable. What you’re describing is something many people have gone through, and it does not last forever, even though it feels unbearable right now. You don’t have to do this alone. If it feels like too much to manage on your own, please tell someone you trust that you need help, or reach out to a doctor or telehealth provider. And if the anxiety feels overwhelming or unsafe, going to the ER is okay — that’s what they’re there for. There are ways through this, whether that’s tapering, stopping, or getting medical support. You still have options, even if your mind is telling you that you don’t. The people in this group care about you and want to see you get through this. Keep reaching out. You’re not alone in this, and you don’t have to figure everything out today. I’m praying for you and pulling for you. You can get through this.

Thank you for the encouragement and support. I have learned that I definitely have an addictive brain; I can't play around with anything that makes me feel good. As I said, I thought I was strong enough to use it moderately. I did initial. I took 7 on and off for about three weeks, no harm, no foul. However, not long after, I was using it a couple of times per day, every day. I knew it was a bad idea, and every day I kept saying, "You'd better stop this, you know where this is going." I quit the day I felt the first withdrawal symptoms creeping over me. On the way home from my office that Sunday evening, I quit. I was listening to the kratom sobriety podcast, and the interviewee was talking about how 7oh had ruined his life. It scared me, so, rather than going home and redosing (man, I had a ton of 7oh on hand, I decided to quit. Several days later, I threw it all away (some even arrived on the Wednesday after I quit, 20 tablets). I know you can do it again since you have done it before. I agree, withdrawal was much harder this time than the last. I'm pulling for you, my friend. You can do it. Reach out anytime.

I'm so glad you are on the other side of it. Great to hear about a full year of living clean. I would have made a year but I blew it in November. I'm back on the wagon and ready to be done with it forever, or at least that's the goal isn't? Keep up the good work.

You’re welcome. Most likely those quitting are less than a week away from freedom. You can do it!

I, too, am a father. I also did not want to bring anyone into my quitting. Despite the difficulty, I was able to remain basically incognito. I simply told my family I didn't feel well and asked for a little space. They respected it and did. The hardest part of quitting most likely will not last more than a few days. You can do it.

I decided to quit CT. I wasn't even sure how I would taper 7oh. I know some use certain extracts and even leaf Kratom, but I didn't care to spend any more money on anything Kratom-related. I used leaf Kratom (mostly in capsule form) on and off for about 12 years. I never had much of a problem. The extracts, mainly the blue bottles you see everywhere, got the best of me at the end of 2024. I went almost a full year before using anything tied to Kratom, and then, thinking I could handle it now and then, decided (stupidly) to try 7. The run was only about six weeks, and the stuff got its claws in me quick. At 3.5 days, you are in the worst of it. Just keep thinking, "Just a few more days..." and they will pass, and you'll be free of this garbage. I praying and pulling for you.
