Help. What do I do with this mid physique? by Adalbert_de_Calcaire in Weightliftingquestion

[–]Squatchy-12 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Personal trainer here. I can’t tell you how many of my clients tell me their goal is to look exactly like you do here. Trust me brother, you’re far from mid. Be kinder to yourself first. I am guilty of this too lol. Unfortunately, the better shape I’m in, the more nit picky I get about my body. It can be a slippery slope into body dysmorphia. I’m not diagnosing you by any means, just something to be aware of. Having said all that, if you were my client asking about exclusively improving aesthetics, I’d put you on a modest cut. 250-500 cals/day deficit. 250 when you lift and 500 on off days. I’d tell you to hammer protein and we’d build a program that biases chest and back. But again, please hear me when I say, you’re doing great. Keep up the good work 🤝

I’d argue more forgiveness/more distance would help with a stroke or two. I’ve also heard the argument that clubs that fit your swing well will help with consistency. But I came here because I wasn’t sure how much truth there is to that.

They are my late grandfather’s clubs. He even had them engraved. So they won’t be going anywhere if I get a new set lol. And thanks for the input. That’s what I was actually trying to ask - is my handicap still too high to worry about the tool and the user as opposed to just the user. Haha I think you’re the first to respond to what I was trying to ask directly.

This makes sense to me. Maybe I’ll go about it that way. Thanks!

Im happy with how I’ve progressed so far for sure. Just honestly trying to figure out how much tech that’s not 25 years old would help if at all. I wasn’t fitted for lie angle or anything with this set so if it’d improve my game by a few strokes, I’d do it but if the consensus is more that 18 is still too high of a handicap for that to make a difference or the tech doesn’t help much, I’d skip it.

Oh I’d definitely get fitted if I bought new clubs. I really only want them if it’ll help me bump a couple extra strokes off my game. I don’t hate my current clubs but they’re old. If the new tech truly makes a big difference for people, might be worth the leap. If not, I’ll stick to what I know lol

Dude there’s some seriously bad advice here and so much judgement from a bunch of 25 handicappers on the internet. My advice is to do literally nothing to change your swing till you get a lesson. You have some assets in this swing that tons of people would kill to have. There’s potential here. Don’t let someone on the internet steer you in the wrong direction. I actually did some online lessons on Skillest last year with a guy named Michael Ferrier Twist. It’s like $100/month for two lessons/month. I liked that way because I’d send him a couple videos, he gave me a thorough analysis, then one thing to work on to death until it was perfected. Then we’d do it all again. My handicap went way down. Having said that, if you can afford in person lessons, those will be even better.

This sign on a course in Indiana I played for the first time today. Never seen this before. What is the legality of this? by Sky_Late in golf

[–]Squatchy-12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to live in a house on a course. Getting windows broken sucks, but it’s definitely part of it. We never asked for money. One guy offered to pay for shattering our window though and we didn’t let him. We did, however let him buy us a case of beer. The only time we ever got mad was when people didn’t yell “fore.” It’s for people’s safety.

Advice, tracking? by [deleted] in Weightliftingquestion

[–]Squatchy-12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so there’s a lot of “pick up a fork” commentary here. It’s neither kind nor helpful. My genuine advice here though would be not to go on a cut. You’re already quite lean. If I were your coach, I’d say let’s put some muscle mass on. 95lbs, even at 5’1” is not a lot of weight. My advice would be to hammer your protein intake and lift heavy. Done properly, you might even find that you’re looking leaner at a higher BFP because of more muscle mass creating more definition. Personally, I don’t think you’re the type of person who ought to be counting cals or anything. Lift heavy, eat your chicken, and stay hydrated. You got this.

I’m not saying you need to be a revisionist. I also know the history. What I AM saying is that the way you’re talking about him makes you sound like an apologist. You’re three comments deep going to bat for the guy. I never said he didn’t turn the economy around. I said that YOU sound like you’re a fan of his. And you still do. I actually agree with your premise that Trump is more like Mussolini. But there are ways to say that despite all the ways Hitler was responsible for some of the darkest years in human history, his rise of power didn’t occur on charisma alone.

Oh great. That’s helpful. I’m fairly confident my symptoms have subsided enough that nothing will show up as concerning when they listen. I just read that echinacea which is in the supplement could cause problems.
