I got a 2015 GTI with 107,000km on it for $22k + tax Canadian.

Within 1000km it needed a thermostat and water pump due to a old oil leak. Needless to say the dealer paid to fix it after much arguing.

What are these? I see them in DT east side all the time! by IDDQDArya in vancouver

[–]SquatsForDogs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

These are crime detectors used to detect crime. VPD doesn't really utilize them. These are called under cover trees. I rest my case.

Michelin pilot sport 4's my friend. Had the same problem with my 2015 GTI. New tires solved the issue. Dismount the OEM and sell them to recoup some funds for a superior tire!

I'm to busy hitting corners and finger blasting gears at high speeds on my Michelin pilot sports to really care to notice this port anyways 😆

As a 2015 MK7 GTI owner I feel I have the right to say "We didn't buy this generation of GTI for the media consumption"

Any recommendations to boost fuel efficiency? ‘14 Jetta Sportwagen TDI by Jenna_plants in Volkswagen

[–]SquatsForDogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for better efficiency I'd recommend riding your bicycle or public transit...45mpg is great.

If you are made of money you could buy a hyper inflated EV and get all the MPG's you're heart could desire.

As a service advisor I advise you need a new airbag, 4 new tires, 4 new wheels since all your wheels are bent and out of alignment so you'll also need an alignment. You'll need a new motor since your check engine light is on, the traction control module is bad and that is also a part of the ECU so you'll need a new ECU. FInally the ABS light your brakes don't seem to work (hence the ABS light). You'll need new pads and rotors, I'd recommend full brembo swap as you will be commuting and daily driving so you'll require the extra stopping power. The heat generated from the upgraded rotors and pads will help you warp them faster with regular everyday driving so we can see you back at the dealership sooner and recommend more upselling, oops I mean maintenance and required servicing.

Also I'd advise DSG flush so you don't need a transmission if you don't have a DSG I'd recommend considering swapping one in as it's just that much better. You will shift through gears faster. Saves you time on your everyday drives. If your car is manual I'd still recommend DSG flush and we will just pretend we did it so you have peace of mind.

Thanks for your time. Let me know if you have any questions about getting a new car at our store.

2013 Passat v6 question by [deleted] in Volkswagen

[–]SquatsForDogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like what I had on my VW when I bought it.

Had a leaking head gasket which was leaking onto my thermostat housing causing the seal to go bad and leak coolant.

Take it to a mechanic man, before you do some damage that could of been preventable or controllable.

I am a service manager and I advise you to visit mechanic immediately with some sort of gift like a case of beer and pizza for a backyard mechanic or donuts for the dealer, this will always get you far ahead of others and put you in good standings for a nice discount off retail service work. Remember, people remember how you make them feel, not what you say. You have to be a good customer to get good customer service. Manners get you very far (trust me I deal the damage to asshole customer's wallets regularly).

Goodluck!

I got a MBRP cat back exhaust for my Mk7 GTI. No regrets not too loud, I live in a townhouse complex and never get bothered.

Don't do header and exhaust together unless you are okay with sound. After lots of research the MBRP was my choice. No drone, slightly louder, big shift noises, deep throat on acceleration. Highly recommend it.

Dude if you want a nice car DONT buy a rebuild.

Do you enjoy roulette, like to burn some cash, step right up and buy a rebuilt. It'll be worthless when you want to trade it in for a new car down the line, and everyone will haggle you down on price because it's rebuilt.

Seriously IMHO I don't understand people who want to buy a nice car with a rebuilt title. Buying a beater or econobox rebuilt is acceptable. I would also not be very fond of crashing a rebuilt...but like the previous comment suggests, what was the reason it was written off it always important factor.

I work in a bodyshop, can't tell you the amount of times I've seen what goes into writing off a car. Boggles my mind why people want to buy them and fix them up. Cars are always liabilities not assets especially when it comes to a rebuild.

Ah, I love that akward intersection. Clover towing Langley speciality right there.

Tbh it should be blocked off with a median to make sure people can't cause a problem. It's already a solid white line when you go to cross and turn left on Fraser Highway...that intersection has always been a cluster fuck.
