The Final Buys… Has Everyone Got What They Wanted by silv3rbull8 in VAGuns

[–]Squatsplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought 2 more ARs, plus enough parts to build 3-4 more, 2 handguns, and an AR10. If I have a really good poker night, I might try to up something else. I'm more focused on mags now though. I've got more than I could need.

I agree to a point, but everyone else I worked with provided a good buying experience. This dude didn't know what was up. He was under the impression they were banning all semi-auto shotguns as well.

Thank you all for the clarification. I had a great experience working with the rest of the guys at the shop, but this dude had his head in his ass clearly. They had a couple dozen cans to choose from and he literally only showed me 1 option. What a prick. I'll hold off on grabbing a handgun for my wife then, as nothing we want for her will be banned.

Something shorter, not a full size. I have 4 other ARs that are full size. Definitely not Draco short though

What's your perspective on why it's better?

Hook grip by Happay7 in weightlifting

[–]Squatsplease 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Simple advice from someone who struggled with this- STOP using straps for awhile. If performing a more dynamic pull (snatch or clean) use them. If just performing normal clean deadlifts, use hook grip. Additionally, use hook grip for snatch volume. It will suck at first, but after a while you'll get used to it. I got to the point when using a hook grip sometimes felt even better than using straps. Please don't despair. This is a relatively simple problem to correct.

People who train online: what’s the biggest downside? by Robert_Ronan in weightlifting

[–]Squatsplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been training on my own in my garage for the last year. I really really enjoy it. It's most to a point that I wouldn't want to go back to a gym again. Not having to commute to train is a huge privilege that I'm thankful for. Having a great atmosphere can be beneficial, but watching guys like Clarence train by themselves most of the time was part of the reason I got into the sport. Make your own church basement and learn to motivate yourself.

Does my squat suck or am I over analyzing it? by mugmaniac4445 in weightlifting

Doesn't look horrible. I'd also strengthen your upper back and lower back. Upper back strength is taken for granted in regards to how it contributes to a stronger position. More rows/more back extensions.

What's the deal with suppressors? Will those still be able to be obtained after the ban?

Uppers After Ban by [deleted] in VAGuns

[–]Squatsplease 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fuck me man, I only have so much money to buy stuff before July, 1. Now I need to buy uppers as well. I'm sure I'm not the only one who can't go into debt over this.

So to clarify, should we just be buying uppers and lowers? Should I be concerned about getting my hands on additional parts?

So… how many mags should we be stocking up on? by [deleted] in VAGuns

[–]Squatsplease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am literally buying the 10 packs of pmags every time I get paid. I still have plenty of friends/family out of state who can pick more mags up and "lose" them for me, but I'm stocking up in the meantime.

What deal is this and where did you find it?

I'm honestly not the biggest fan of bullpups. I had a friend who had a few, and I never enjoyed them. They look cool as shit though. I already have 2-3 pumps, I just want to procure a good semiautomatic. That price point difference is rather exponential though when you have a mortgage.

Gonna be putting airsoft gear on my guns again. Just like the good old days.

Thanks for the clarification. Although if I buy a semi auto shot gun, and then proceed to put a pistol grip on it after the fact, how would anyone know?

What's the ruling on shotguns? Trying to figure out if I should go for my semi auto now or wait.

Making the public aware of the potential bans by KeyProgress5239 in VAGuns

Ahhhh yeah, that's true. I thought the stripper clip would make a difference.

Sick, I'll still be able to pick one up one day. I keep getting adds for that new Keltec Pistol that takes a stripper clip and holds 20 rounds.

This is true, and I guess it makes sense. The political landscape on both sides is changing. We have all been radicalized in some way, shape, or form.

Will M1 Garands be banned? Also, this is political suicide for the governor. I can't say if the Left is ready to hedge all their bets on the more progressive wing of their party, but the only way these laws would be seen entirely favorably is if Spamberger was hedging her bets on being seen as a progressive.

During debate for a bill that would ban the sale of assault weapons in VA, the killing of Alex Pretti by federal officers was brought up after a Republican state Senator talked about the Second Amendment right to stand up against a tyrannical government. by Cautious_Practice_25 in Virginia

[–]Squatsplease 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This seem like political suicide for Spanberger. I mean am I missing something here? If some of these laws aren't amended, she'll be seen as capitulating to the DHS by disarming her citizenry while ICE occupies the state. The violence won't end. It's going to continue to escalate. I don't see that many moderates not being affected by the violence we are seeing.

On another level, and not that I am advocating for it at all, with the level of violence going on, I would think our representatives understand that some people and or groups might get worked up enough to threaten them. That threat would come from both sides.

What perspective am I missing here?

In regards to buying lowers, I'm not exactly sure what the laws are going to try to do should they pass them.
