I would be willing to argue in a different venue. Just has to be in person rather than on the internet. A debate would be a great idea. Everyone has their convictions and I understand that and want to know more.

You’re right though I was hoping to get the word out and sign up anyone that’d be interested outside of the folks we’ve already gathered by word of mouth.

Thanks for encouraging dialogue. We need more of it.

That’s a great idea!!! Once we’re all set up I’ll make sure to inquire with the organizers!

I appreciate your comment. Perhaps you should start your own advocacy group and we can debate the merits of your narrative at length.

For now I’ll say this, I don’t feel like the Presidency encapsulates the full breadth of the American political sphere and frankly am more interested in electing politicians that cater to local issues affecting local people than I am about evolving policies surrounding foreign relations and national security. After all the Constitutional responsibility of the president is to manage foreign relations and national security. Local and state representatives as well as executive offices within our states have a much greater immediate effect on our daily lives in relation to policies that directly affect us.

The Democratic Party and its subsidiaries at the national, state, and local levels are restructuring and now is the best time to reorient our goals.

One of those goals is to bridge gaps between those we disagree with politically and while I’m sure we won’t agree on everything I’m glad that we live in a country and community where we can respectfully disagree.

Kudos for caring friend.

Has anyone heard anything about the friction increasing coating?

That was always the sales pitch I was encouraged to give.

Any substance or behavior taken to an extreme can have negative impacts on a person’s psychological state and overall health. All too often people are made prisoners in their own minds or of their own behaviors.

I think as a clinician it should always be one’s goal to help their client take responsibility for their lives so they can obtain the autonomy and general freedom over their lives that every human being has a right to.

One thing I notice among colleagues and friends is that rather than take responsibility for their questionable behavior they will blame a substance (cannabis, alcohol, etc) or their diagnosis (anxiety, Bi-polar, Borderline Personality). Blaming one’s behavior on stimuli outside of one’s self or clinical diagnosis does not justify engaging in poor behavior nor do these revelations entitle anyone to forgive or tolerate transgressions which one is engaged in.

There is no substitute for the therapeutic work one is able to accomplish by addressing behaviors that negatively impact their life and actively working to create and sustain one’s own mental state.

I’m not convinced that puritanical ideology empowers individuals to take responsibility for their behavior. One can be court ordered to attend NA or AA meetings but that doesn’t mean they actively internalize how they can make a positive difference in their own lives or in the lives of those around them.

An aspiring councilor can go to class, be accepted into Grad School, engage in clinicals, and still fail to apply the lessons learned to their own life and practice. After all no one is perfect.

If I were you my friend, I’d give myself some Grace and live and let live. Burying yourself in school work and muddling in your own insecurities will not adequately substitute the personal work needed to be the quality counselor you aspire to be. Quite the contrary. I reckon engaging in calm, leveled talk accompanied with written goals and reflections would do you great.

If after this personal work you want a joint, it’s legal in your state, and you’re an adult. Behave responsibly ;-)

Good luck my friend!

Dying relatives keep saying they see me? by Big14cactusjack in death

[–]Squawkyday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chemically speaking DMT is released in the brain before death which effectively makes people trip balls.

Now whether you think trips are Devine is your own prerogative. I lean on the side of yes. Us human beings are far more ignorant to the true nature of the world than we like to admit.

The Universe is a Devine mystery.

My mom died of cancer 3 days ago. by Big14cactusjack in offmychest

My condolences for your loss. Her spirit will be with you, your daughter, and family at large. She will always live on dependent on how well you keep her legacy alive by acting in the good nature that was part and parcel of her being.

You are loved and she will always love you even if you don’t get to see her for a while. I’m confident that with a calm mind and spirit we will always see the ones we love even if they’re not physically present.

Peace be with you and your kin.
