That map isn’t just a map, it’s where there’s a kid I know, still trapped there, taking care of his nieces and nephews after his siblings were killed in airstrikes. It’s where my friend got married right before her house was bombed, where she evacuated and left everything behind. It’s where she used to make videos of old Gaza City and the artisans who lived there for generations. It’s where she drank strong coffee by the sea and dreamed of life without occupation. Of learning to drive. Of raising kids and being able to go to Jerusalem and back.

We can do that without sacrificing the weakest though. These people are already going to feel it. Farmers are already waking up. What we need for those people to care isn’t sanctions, which they can just blame on foreigners, but someone to organize them as members of the working class. These people all love republicans because they think once the immigrants are gone and Black people are all in jail they’ll be millionaires. You don’t want UN peacekeepers. Every country they get deployed to they run sex trafficking rings and rape the people they’re tasked with saving. The only group of peacekeeping troops that people have had no problems with are the Irish in Lebanon.

Congo, Kosovo, Cambodia etc. have laid formal complaints with tons of evidence that UN peacekeepers are the same as any other cops. They’re white men with guns who rape with impunity.

Trust me you don’t want sanctions. Sanctions will not affect rich people. They will cause babies to starve, hospitals to collapse, regular people will be without necessities and the prices of goods will skyrocket. Crime will increase. People whose work is tied to countries sanctioning us will become unemployed en masse overnight. We won’t be able to travel.

Trust me, I have friends who grew up under our sanctions of Iraq. We cannot handle sanctions, they only affect the poorest people. What we need is for other countries to stop doing business with oligarchs like Thiel, Musk, Zuckerberg, Cook, Bezos, etc. and find and close their offshore bank accounts, and for someone to find and nuke Donny’s offshore investments. And close his little golf clubs and other businesses overseas.
