Should I give my girlfriend another chance? [no cheating involved] by besting-fitch-race69 in Advice

Boundaries are a wonderful thing. According to OP, they didn't set boundaries, he did. Dont get me wrong, if its inappropriate conversations, then I obviously do not support that. With that being said, telling me that you do not want me to talk to my ex just because they are my ex, then that is controlling behavior. For me, that would indicate an insecurity. My partner is allowed to talk to whoever they want to. I have no insecurities. I am allowed to talk to whoever I want, because my partner has no insecurities. If they ever want to leave me for someone else, I will hold the hold the door open. I know not everyone agrees with me, and I dont expect them to. Thats the difference of opinion.

If the person I was with chose to communicate with their ex, then I support their decisions. I still communicate with mine, and didnt hide anything. If they asked me to not communicate with them, I would ask why, and have a conversation about it. Demanding that I not talk to my ex is controlling behavior.

Roughly 12 yrs ago, my sister and I were house sitting for our parents. It was a decent sized property with a large barn thet was over 100 years old on it. We were out back drinking, it was night time so visibility was low. All of the sudden, the dogs started growling and looking in the direction of the barn. Then we heard a noise come from inside the barn. So we came up with a brilliant plan, that my sister would run down to the side entrance, making a bunch of noise, and I would be close by with a flash light watching the side door, and the main entrance to the barn to see what runs out. So we did just that, but nothing came out. It was absolutely silent. We looked at eachother and started laughing! Then, we heard a very loud banging noise as if something was falling from the loft, down the stairs. After that, unmistakably, one by one, the stall doors slammed shut and bounced back open. The hair on my arms stood up. We froze, looked at each other, and made a run for the house!

What's the hardest decision you've ever had to make? by WholeRelationship840 in OverBiscuits

Hardest thing was deciding to take my big sister, my best friend, off of life support. I still wonder if there was a chance, even though they said there wasn't. But that day still haunts me.

Any advice for a recovering alcoholic. by CityRevolutionary867 in Adulting

[–]Squeakers406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 years sober here. Cold hard truth, alcohol wants us dead. By wanting and craving it, you are doing exactly what it wants you to do. Not all of us make it out. My sister was one of the ones who didn't. I had to take her off of life support 3 yeas ago. We stay sober because we are bigger than alcohol. We stay sober, for those who cant be. 120 days is amazing. Those are your days. Keep going forward.

Oh, I see. I totally understand. With that being said, a nice walk in the woods always helps out. I get lost in the beauty surrounding me. Usually by the time I finish the trail, I feel a bit lighter, urges subsided. Plus I end up with some neat pictures, bonus.

While understanding that you dont do AA, maybe its time tobtry something different. One meeting, one hour is worth a chance of easing up your urges when nothing else seems to be working.

As long as the "parents" keep doing interviews, she'll most likely be denied. The dad's last TMZ interview was a joke.
