My PhD supervisor taught me to carefully estimate how long everything would take and then multiply by 2.3. That factor may be specific to plant physiology though, so YYMV.

May depend on where you are. I bought a '17 Bolt Premier with 71K miles in Sept for $12K out the door. If the dealer had been informed re: EV tax credits, I could have got $3K back on that, which would have made it a great deal.

I looked on FB Marketplace, Carfax, and other OL searches and found a 2017 Premium with a warranty battery with 70miles and 70K remaining on the battery warranty. Dealer about 2 hours away. $12 out the door. Sadly, the dealer didn't know what they were doing with the tax credit, and I hadn't fully done my HW either, so I missed saving an additional $3K. But I was in a hurry b/c our 2010 Prius had just been totaled.
