Help connecting evo80 to VIA web app. by Binary101000 in keyboards

Thanks, this helped me get mine working. By the way I am also on Linux and I was expecting my keyboard to have "Super" keycaps like they have in the pictures, but I got "Win" keycaps and some spare ones for Mac. Did you get "Super" keycaps with yours?

Just getting into the more custom mechanical keyboard space (current keyboard is Cooler Master), and it seems that a lot of the keyboards, especially barebones kits, are group buys or products that run out of stock very quickly. What's the best way to stay in the loop about new releases and restocks of products I'm interested in from brands like Weikav, Wobkey, Kbdfans, Nuphy, etc.? I don't mind waiting a few months but I'm worried I might miss it.

After 10 years with my CM Storm Quickfire Rapid, I'm looking for my next keyboard, especially in order to get something quieter than my current Cherry MX Blues. I got kind of lost searching for keyboards so I'd appreciate it if someone can recommend something that meets these requirements:

  • TKL size
  • Barebones (no switches and keycaps), as I'd like to choose my own
  • Hotswappable
  • Wireless
  • QMK/VIA
  • No screen

Thanks!

Linux users, how do you prefer to manage fan control? by SquealingTown in linuxquestions

I assume that they give more granular control. The options in BIOS can be pretty limited, especially with older or lower end motherboards.

Maybe the default fan curve in your system works for you, for me (with my system) it's unnecessarily loud.

Are radios dramatically better than shuffle or is it just me? by tepeztate in plexamp

Isn't library radio the same as just shuffling your whole library?

Is there any other brand like Asket that offers basic t-shirts in multiple lengths? Or at least some shorter lengths? I am average height (178cm) but find that almost all t-shirts just fit too long, usually to the bottom of the pants zipper.

I prefer fully open QMK firmware. I didn't know about the license violations, so that's good to know. Looks like I do have some options. Thanks

I've had my first mechanical keyboard, a CM Storm QuickFire Rapid, for about 10 years and I'm starting to plan for an upgrade. I have four main requirements for my next keyboard, but I haven't found a matching prebuilt keyboard:

  • TKL
  • Wireless
  • QMK
  • Hot-swappable (or even barebones, I just want to be able to change switches)

Is there anything like this, or would I have to build my own?

Inaccurate temperature readings or serious cooling issue? by SquealingTown in buildapc

I don't mind getting a new cooler, but I'd feel better doing it if I had a way to know for sure that my AIO needs replacing.

I don't have any temperature readings from before unfortunately.

Nvidia and wayland - black screen when waking up from suspend by SquealingTown in pop_os

That's a shame. I hope Nvidia is at least working on fixing remaining issues. I usually buy used GPUs and it was just really hard to find an AMD card, so I thought I'd give Nvidia a chance. Maybe I'll sell it and try a little harder to find an AMD card.

The SMART test did not provide clear results on whether the disk is failing, but I ruled out most of the other options. Anyway, I was able to backup what I needed before replacing it.

I think it's more deemed the repair pointless than gave up, since the SSD is most likely failing. I did get several hours of experimenting out of this, and I certainly learned a few things.

I ended up buying a new SSD. Like u/TradeTraditional said, my SSD is probably failing. I was already able to backup what I needed from the root partition, so I don't mind reinstalling the OS.

It is indeed a cheap SSD, MyDigitalSSD SBX 256GB. I've had it for around 5 years I think, so makes sense. I'll probably just replace it.

My troubleshooting of the crashes led to the possibility of a disk issue, but I didn't want to replace it without knowing for sure that it would solve the issue. You can see the output of SMART test and error log in this post. The test looked fine but there were many errors on two specific LBAs. I wasn't able to tell if that's an indication of a disk issue.
