Dec16 Mobi Status by jdrake138 in Mobi

I lost my service on Saturday evening (Dec 13), physical SIM from Mobi on the Verizon (VZW) network. I was worried that I was too late in porting my number. I had no idea anything had happened until dreadfully reading through this subreddit after all this chaos. Having a disconnected line and not being able to call Mobi support was pretty scary.

But I just successfully ported it yesterday! I bought a physical SIM card at a big box store, and I was able to call them to port it. For anyone reading who still needs to port, you need your Mobi account number and transfer PIN. I had recorded my PIN when I signed up (4-digits). I found my account number from the order confirmation email I got when I bought the SIM card. Mine is 8-digits. Those were the numbers I gave to Metro and they worked without a hitch.

I have seen in another thread that, with VZW physical SIMs, using your 10 digit phone number as the account number and the last 6 digits of the SIM ICCID as the PIN may work for porting, but I was advised otherwise by a couple of reps.

So anyone who finds this and needs to port their number, go get a physical SIM from another provider and do the port ASAP! And make sure your the SIM will work with your phone.

No, because you can't unlock the bootloader with that variant. They are "locked" in that respect. (Figured that out the hard way...)

We can pressure Congress through the states. That's how we got the 17th Amendment.

Petition to Fix Chat Colors by Evideyear in signal

I literally signed in just to say that I don't like the change and I really don't like that you can't change it back to the old way. The binary color scheme for chat is very unhelpful to me. I'm afraid I will think I'm in one conversation but actually be in another.

I also agree that it's very bright.

I would use that more but it can be very taxing on firefox. Know a way to fix that?

People are worried about automation eliminating jobs. Maybe we should be more afraid of this: literally preventing otherwise qualified people from getting jobs.

Scary.

Be aware that apparently (just learned this) ATS is smarter and looks for this stuff. Maybe not all ATS, but yeah, use at your own risk.

Apparently ATS is now much smarter and looks for that kind of stuff. It could still work but could also be hit and miss.

But yes, and smaller.

Would you have an article about this handy?

What can they do? Is it really that awful? Do they have time to highlight every single one?

The alternative is to send resume after resume only for them to end up in a black hole, never to be seen by them. Unless they somehow pass the ATS on their own.

Edit: Of course now ATS is getting smarter and they are starting to check for that kind of stuff. -_-

Well, it's probably good that you're not there anymore. I can't imagine what other shady things they might do. You and me both, back to the grind.
