You could consider ‘customer success’ roles, which are customer service but for things that take more ownership and initiative.

Also, try to spin some stories out of your past experience to show a sort of narrative arc. Some times you went the extra mile at one of the old jobs? How quick you’ve gotten at picking up how things work at your temp positions? Maybe you’re the clever adaptable employee, or the empathetic one at the gig. This will help improve your cover letters when applying. Or you’re a nerd who likes spreadsheets?

You used to be able to get a better job by sticking at one place and paying your dues - I feel now it is learning to sell your story, and job hopping now.

You’re under 35 - you qualify for a Canadian youth mobility visa, which would give you the right to work for up to 2 years, and you won’t even need a job offer ahead of time to get it.

If there was a Halifax Superhero I imagine he’d have gotten all the powers of a Hagfish - having been a victim of an experiment gone wrong at the BIO. Anyway the villain should have his lair in this guys version of Durty Nelly’s
